I'm dropping my addiction.

I love this thread because your health journey is inspiring me too! I too struggle with sugar addiction, everytime i stop sugar and go carnivore after about 10h or so my cravings get so powerful that i impulse order trash food from uber eats/doordash :weep:

Yes, it's the snow. But not the one you would think of first.

From tomorrow, there is no sugar in my life.

And by none, it means no food or drinks that contain any kind of sugar, even fructose(fruits, some vegetables).

I did this once in past so I kinda know what withdraws I will have in two days. My hands will shake and I will want to kill somebody.

Sounds crazy eh? But that's how much we are addicted to this stuff. If you think you are not, try to go for 4 days w/o any sugar/sweets/fruits.

Now enjoying my last coffee with real sugar as artificial sweeteners make it taste like shit.

If you are thinking of improving your health, I suggest trying this, it's a bit annoying as you constantly need to read food labels to avoid something that has sugar in it but end result is superb.

My goal is to go into ketosis to lose some winter protection layer I've gained last year.
I thought I was addicted to sugar and it ended up being a severe magnesium deficiency. I started taking more magnesium and my sugar cravings gradually disappeared. I'm not a doctor, so maybe talk to one before you start supplementing with magnesium. You should also look into the Ancient Minerals magnesium spray. That's what I use...

Cool man. I've actually done something similar when it comes to withdrawing from caffeine. Till Dec 2022 i was drinking 2 1,5 Litres of Coca Cola Light every day + 2 Caffeines. Already finished cutting out the 3 L of daily coke light out of my life since February. Being addicted to anything (Sugar, Caffeine etc.) sucks ass and you only know it once you go into the withdrawal of it.
Hmmm...I'm looking at your message...looking at my coffee cup...counting how many I drink today...thinking about the sugar inside... bro, I have a problem.

Life is not worth without a sweetener for me.

Personally i find everything tastes disgusting without a sweetener, other than water. Water is delish.

And i know someone is gonna say "well your tastbuds are gonna adapt maaan"

No, they wont adapt, you cunt. In fact, i dont want them to adapt. Coffee, cocoa, tea, its all kinda gross to disgusting without a sweetener. And say my tastebuds do adapt. Say they do. The taste is still gonna be fucking awful, and life wont be worth living.

That said, i only use honey and xylitol as a sweetener. And i make my own apple juice, so it has no added anything.

Life is good, and sweet.

Good for you brother.

I am 60 days clean and am starting to feel so much better.

I still crave it but the withdrawals are not as bad as the first 30 days.

For me, I only had the cravings at night time after I settle in.

I needed the dopamine/opioid hit as a reward each night.

But what I noticed was that it was tied to my anxiety.

When I work, I do so at such a frenzy that I needed the sugar to relax and calm down from the day in the same way people smoke or drink alcohol to relax.

So what I did was slow down my pace of work and focus on my breath so that I am not wound up at the end of the day craving a "substance" to relax me.

Good for you! For me, I think the worst at the moment is coffee. If I ever lower my intake of caffeine, I can probably do achieve anything else.

True that! How is your battle going, do you have a clear plan how to avoid sugars or you just try to skip only white sugar in your tea/coffee/food?

my plan atm is to avoid adding sugar on tea, coffee, drinks and foods,i started by reducing the amount every day until i removed it completely, but i cheat from time to time, i get back quickley to my diet, since by avoiding sugar i feel better, i can think clearely, and my gut never disturb me ... haha

Sugar is bad for health, is a myth. Sugar consumed in normal quantities in a normal diet, does not negatively impact health and it is infact a contributor to good health, when consumed in normal quantities in a normal diet.

its not sugar, they take that thing, and refind like x100 t imes and even add chemicals onto it,

I defenetely believe is hard because I already went through this situation several times and is hard, is not easy, I was recommended to do it gradually because by some reason even if you are eathing healthy and correct amounts when you drop the sugar your body weaken, you feel alzy the first days and you don't have the power or energy to you get tired really quickly once you pass the first week with no sugar you start getting back to normal, this is no joke is a real addiction to sugar and now sugar does more damage to yourbody because all thos chemicals and nonse they add it to make you dependant of it.

I've read that if you are above 4-6 cups a day you might develop further heart problems in the future (ofc this number varies from person to person). I am simply trying to quit because i hate being physically addicted to anything. I dont think there is anything wrong with drinking coffee as long as you are not going nuts with it.

I wish best of luck in the fight with sugar adiction and if you are able to beat it you will see masive health benefits into your life

Unless you are diabetic, any natural sources of sweet is fine in moderation, like fruits. You do not have to fight with your cravings everyday.
