Day #1.
Day started 3 AM with coffee but this time with stevia instead of sugar. Usually, this combo was terrible but I guess new coffee beans that I grind myself make it bearable.
While driving to the office took a latte at the local gas station but this time w/o any sugar as usual.
So far, so good.
It's the evenings I'm afraid the most, when I'm tired I have very strong ghrelin production( which stimulates appetite and food cravings) so I'm pretty sure that I will start to feel the effects only after 3 PM.
I'm surprised to see how many people quit sugar too, that motivates me!
let's goo!
welcome to the club
i have been using no sugar since last september, i use stevia as an alternative i prefer the real herb not fake shit
i'm currently on an balanced OMAD Diet and it has made everything about me better, currently getting rid of that "winter protection layer"
Thank you! I do now use stevia as well. Kudos on your OMAD, you are a beast! That's too hardcore for me, I tried once but that is simply something that would require a long adjustment period and wouldn't be able to work while adapting. I will go 16/8 Intermittent fasting tho.
Fruits are fine, no need to punish yourself more than you deserve.
Fruit contains two types of sugar: fructose and glucose. I'm going for a full detox of it, so fruits are no good for me.
I too have been reducing my sugar intake, not because I need to, but because it does little for our body and can cause issues over time as we age.
Good job on having a health goal, our health is all we truly have in life.
Great thinking, I agree!
Thank god, I was worried you're about to quit

and going to rehab, glad you're still going to keep pushing and pulling those all nighters

Jokes aside, kudos to you, I also quit sugar (in a form of sweets) but never went that far as also quitting the fruits, best of luck on your journey!
hahaha, never had

problems but I have to admit that I quit alcohol at parties or events when tried it, now I dont drink anymore haha,

is the GOAT.
ketosis, mitosis, blah blah blah. Just eat normal, be in a calorie deficit and stay active and you will gradually lose the weight without it boomeranging back into your.
If you're even slightly overweight these fad diets will not only hurt your organs, but will also kill your metabolism, or what is left of it.
There is processed sugar in everything, so staying clean will for sure help in your battle. It should give you mental clarity and some stability after 1-2 weeks. The initial fight is the toughest since not only is your body used to it, but your probably have a habit of going for it at certain times of the day, or certain triggers that push you.
Keep up the fight, and you can do this!
You are absolutely right, I agree with you, my problem was that calory counting is something I found very difficult so keto is something that I tried in past, it worked really well and it's something that fits well with what and how I like to eat. I'm aware of the things I should do to mitigate risks and not planning to fully switch myself to it, just for a year or less.
Yo, I am on keto diet

First 2 weeks, 20g of carbs / day
Later you can go to 40g-50g and keep that
This is breaking sugar addiction, after good adaptation you are not hungry for sugar any more
Fruits are also crap! Because 10 minutes after eating, changing from fructose into glucose
How long are you using it, what benefits have you noticed? I agree about sugar addiction, last time I got clean - I noticed that after day 4-5 I did not crave it anymore at all.
i am in that battle too ...i try to minimize and get to the lowest the white sugar, artificial swwetners
just a tip, not all sugars are equals...the sugar in fruits and other natural products -sugar like fructose and inuline are good for us, meaning we need it to feed our gut bacteria,
the problem is the white sugar ...thats the real danger ...
True that! How is your battle going, do you have a clear plan how to avoid sugars or you just try to skip only white sugar in your tea/coffee/food?
Pina coladas are enough sugar for me
In 100g of pina colada there is 22g of sugar. One teaspoon has around 4g of sugar. When you drink one pina colada you probably are taking in 4-6 teaspoons of sugar. That is a lot if we think of that in this way haha
My five remaining teeth would love to join you... No sugar on cereal, tea, drinks for the past few months - gonna struggle to cut out stuff like chocolate but I think it's doable
Best of luck LS
Thank you! Let's plan a trip to Turkey this year together haha, interested in veneers myself. About that chocolate - try to switch to darker ones, they have less sugar and then after a while you can switch to dark chocolate that has stevia in it, tastes worse but will help slowly to get rid of them.
I'm doing this with carbs and suger every few months to keep my diabetes in check (I'm type 1).
I don't experience these shakings, maybe because I don't consume this much suger in the first place, but the first few days are definitely hard.
Best of luck!
BTW
Going for it knowing how hard it is and what you'll experience in 2 days is plain bravery!
Thank you. I'm not sure how it will go this time as back then addiction was high, with cravings for sodas every other day, sweets, etc. I think now it's not that bad so I guess it should go easier, at least I think so, will see in a day or two haha.

Do you practice any form of fasting as well?
I dropped this about a year ago, been feeling better as well. Hope you can beat it, because it's gonna be a tough journey
I will, thank you! Did you quit all sweets or only white sugar? What about sodas, juices, drinks with sugar etc?
