I have been tracking the DA and PA of several of my sites over the past 2-3 years. As a regular practice I record these metrics on 1st of every month. What I have observed is that Moz updates it monthly but there were times when the DA changed mid month too.
All in all I can say that it does not change frequently. But if you keep on building backlinks regularly you will observe the DA increasing steadily over few months.
(There are few dormant sites in my portfolio whose DA is almost constant for the past 2 years as I am not working on them - just sharing)

You can submit your site to moz crawler. Am pretty much sure da pa will be increase if you create index authority backlinks

They update the DA and PA metrics once or twice a month. However, it's important to note that these updates are not scheduled and may not occur on the same day or time each month. Plus, not all websites or pages will see an update to their DA or PA with each update cycle.
