Welcome to my 2nd Journey.

I wanted to share this journey to show there are still some untapped niches out there and not everything is "oversaturated" (I hate hearing this).

I came up with this idea from my day job, which is in banking. This idea is specific to my own country and may not work elsewhere, but I want to encourage everyone to explore what they know in their day to day from their own day jobs, studying, or family, and find service or product gaps for you to explore. You will be surprised at what you will find and how lucrative they can be.

THE SERVICE
I won't be revealing it in full, but in a broad description - it is specific documents from a government register. No, it's not anything illegal or classified. It's something ANY citizen of my country can request themselves through state government websites at a cost.

The web design and SEO is so poor for the government that if you Google how to get this document, the gov websites do not appear on the first page of Google.

It costs between $22 - $28 (depending on the state/province) to pull these documents, and I am charging a flat fee of $70 per document for this. I post Google Ads driving to a landing page, people pay for the service. I manually go into the gov website, request required documents (it comes instantaneously) then I forward to the customer. I also have a blog that I am posting content for keywords related to this service.

I explored this idea as customers of the bank would contact me and ask me if the bank can provide these documents to them. The bank obviously has a direct access to this, but we can't provide them to freely to people because there is cost to the bank.

COMPETITION
There are two types of competition: resellers like me and information brokers.

-There are two other resellers doing this. One of them is a minor service offering by a small legal firm, so not a priority for them. The other is a more established business that is my direct competitor which is rather established and doing well SEO wise. However, you will see below there is still enough demand for newbies to jump in and make sales relatively quickly.
-The information brokers offer this on an individual level, however they are primarily B2B. Their main clients are banks, accountants, law firms, and settlement agents. Their advertising is 100% directed towards these businesses. I ran some of their sites through Semrush paid search traffic tool and there were zero ads targeting individual consumers.

I was lucky to find a local aged domain with several thousand backlinks and a low spam score.

RESULTS SO FAR
I launched the website one and a half weeks ago and these are the results - five sales. Yes, yes laugh at me for using PayPal - I'm just using them for now while I test the idea. I'll likely move to another payment processor once things pick us.

I am only running ads in one state, with plans to expand into other states soon.

NEXT STEPS
-My main focus at the moment is optimising my ads. I'm a rookie, so perhaps I'm spending too much but learning as go along. Reading a lot on this forum and watching youtube vids on ads.
-SEO. My competitors receive a lot of organic traffic, so I'm publishing more content to rank for keywords. This will take time.

Once I have enough sales (maybe 6-12 months), I will approach one of the information brokers to integrate their API into my website. This will add automation to the sales process where orders can be automatically fulfilled. However, they will only deal with me unless I can prove I'm somewhat established and have a customer base. My work uses an information broker for these documents, so I've been able to speak to someone about this.

Thanks for reading, will post updates as they come.

Thanks king :)

Glad I was able to inspire you and give you a new perspective on research

Dropservice as been around a while; most people dont take advantage of it; there's a lot money to be made.
A similar niche I noticed is for travel visas; you rank for travel visas keywords, let's say 'travel visit thailand'
You rank for that keyword with your post, then you offer visitors service how to file their travel visits... it only costs 30-50 dollars for someone to fill it out by themselves.
But these websites charge like $200-$300 to do it for them, you only need a few people to go with your offer; and some visitors may get confused and think your website is the
website to officially file for their travel visas.
I picked the 'travel visit thailand' as an example because I am planning to visit thailand, and when I was going thur the 1* post I found on google.
I admit I was fooled for few minutes by the website's name and design, but then my SEO marketing spider senses kicked in and I realized I was on a drop service website.
Thailand is most visited country on planet earth (40 million visitors a year), even if that website gets 2%-3% convertions ... they still making bang busters with that website.

I think you've just given some people a new business idea :)

But yes, you are correct. I think drop servicing is overlooked because all the gurus and tiktok videos are based on drop shipping models.

You are right that some niches might still not be saturated. If you find these, you will save a lot of time and chances of success are also higher.

Hi Intriguing. Moto of the story:- Consistently consider out the container. Best of luck with your process mate. Following

Would you like to share or recommend any course to start with drop shipping or servicing?

I saw something similar when i moved to spain. The Nie, a document needed for some things here, costs around 9 euros per person but fill out the paperwork and make an appointment it is not very easy (for those who are not very practical). some websites resell the service by doing everything for you, with a cost of around €40-50.
Interesting, I will follow your progress. It's nice to see someone thinking outside the box, instead of the usual cpas and affiliations.

You are making it easier for people in your country to get these documents that seem hard to get so they would rather pay you to save themselves the trouble of having to do it the themselves. Nice idea.

Your risk is your government website would update and make it easier for your customers to be able to get documents in the future lol
Or more people start offering that to people.
Yes you are right, but the gov in my country is retarded. Even if they did, they would easily be outranked again.

Thank you! That's right, narrow down and look local, along with working within your own sphere of knowledge and influence.

There are plenty of dropshipping courses everywhere (likely on this forum too), this is the big craze with the ecom gurus. Drop servicing I'm not familiar with any courses. You just have to find a service that's in demand and charge higher than the provider.

It seems there are demand for services related to the government everywhere!

Is this legal? You should contact a good lawyer first before moving forward.

Yes, it is legal. I work in the industry and am aware of regulations around this.

You're doing great so far, good luck!

Hey everyone

Have had some more sales since the last week, so I feel like the idea may be validated.

I have spent most of today working on a few areas:
-Launched some new ads targeting other states in my country. The current ads I'm running are only targeting the particular state I am based in. The new ads target the two most populous states.
-Core web vitals. Trying to improve on-page performance. The site I put up a few weeks back was kind of patched together because I wanted to test this idea quickly. Now that I've got some sales, trying to make the buying experience as smooth as possible.
-Exploring add-on services as upsells. There is one service I am looking at that will require a real blackhat method to make work. I'll explain this a bit more in another update, but this service is related to the documents I am drop selling.

Have a great weekend!
