how to use telegram anonymously?

I want to use telegram in a way that my ip address and location are not seen by telegram. using the phone app makes this tough because no matter what you do, the app can see the wifi spots around you, and can see your ip address too. I know there is a web version but when I went to use it, it asked me to scan some code using my phone. so it's not as simple as paying textverified $1 and getting a number. you need a device, which defeats the whole anonymity efforts. is there no way to use telegram anonymously?

i think the app shouldn't have permissions to do that as for hiding ip u could use a vpn, and a location spoofer

On mobile? Set up a VM under bochs (an emulator available in google play store) and install Debian or android (download ISO from android-x86.org). Then just install VPN in your VM and turn on the connection before starting telegram. Telegram won't know who you are, but your cellular provider will see you're using a VPN.


Achieving anonymity/privacy on mobile phone is a tough nut to crack (or should I say impossible), even with dumb phones.

Here's a starting point:

Instead RedHat, install debian (a linux distribution) with XFCE desktop environment, since it's very lightweight. Then install telegram and VPN through cli. Use google, and watch some youtube videos. Good luck.
