Is it just getting signed up on every platform that lets you link your website or do they have to be niche related or location related?

And do you need to also post content on them or be active in order to work?

besides just making accounts and linking to your website their isn't much you can do! You can get likes/shares to increase your social signals as well. Just make sure to use the correct keywords and use quality content/designs. you don't need to be active but at least have some activity on the accounts.

Just creating a social media pages for your website and putting link inside will not take you far. It carries very little weight now.
Build a community of followers/subs/fans and then divert the traffic to your website.

I totally agree with that, But all he wants is to get backlinks! building a base on multiple social media accounts is hard, he better focus on 1 to drive traffic, i'd suggest instagram as it's the easiest one to grow on.

I do local SEO for a real estate Agency and I can't really create and manage much of social media content

Should I just skip this and try to contact blog websites to promote my articles?

Look for articles in your niche.

Now add your own article about the niche and know add a raw url to your website.

When Google revisit the social website.

You just got a free backlink.

Hopefully from a high Web 2.0

Good luck.

Ps.
Go on Google search for, ##Web 2.0 list 2023##

I don't really understand what you're saying?

Are you saying to promote my blogs to blog websites?

No do not skip it at all, as I told you it carries a little weight. But still they are useful. Just create the official social media pages related their business and their website links and few posts to show an activity.

Quality guest posting on relevant websites carries the most weight.

Note: Quality means authentic niche relevant blogs, not just some random PBN or link farming sh*t.

Simply signing up for SMPs is not enough. There's no successful link building without quality content (barring some high-level tricks).

My advice:
  • Join popular platforms
  • Join niche forums/discussion boards that are highly targeted.
  • Create worthwhile content and link to it and/or ask others to do so. Become an authority figure.

I've always struggled with growing social media accs, I don't even know what type of content to create plus I don't have any access to social media platforms for my client atm

Does it matter if I don't end up becoming popular on social media or do I need to have some sucess with posting for the backlinks to become useful?

Also do you think that people will accept to promote my articles? My website has a very low DA(6) and a PA of 21.

The best way to create social media backlinks with good domain authority is to search on Google for a list of high-DA social media platforms. Then, create a Gmail account, sign up for those platforms, and add your link to your profiles.

A mix of both active and passive links works best long term.

The first backlinks you should get when starting SEO for your site is a social media backlink. It helps improve your Domain Authority (DA) to around 12 and makes it easier for your links to get indexed.
