The best format for SEO is direct page/article/item name with dashes.
Example: market.com/car-repair-kit

i was tyhinking the same thing so its better to have domain.com/products/ as the url format?
so when i dio seo on 1 link they are all boosted as they are included in the same url

Not because of that but interlinking.

I told you it will be easier for you as a webmaster. It doesn't really give an SEO boost.

Interlinking will boost children.

Folder structure is to keep things organized.

Forum is not the best example. Compare with sites with the same base. Blog to blog. eshop to eshop etc.

There isn't much in it really, the key is just to be consistent with your url structure. As @tiiberius says, using a directory structure will help to organize your site in both your mind and the customers, but it matters little to SEO. What will help is proper internal linking and things like breadcrumblist structured data.

The only way this would work if is you link to every product page from domain.com/product/ and then run a link building campaign to that url.
