I gave very precise instructions in a complex component not entire app and it was giving bad irrelevant or outdated code in 90% of prompts
Those YouTube apps are very basic ones and they are easy to build here I am talking about advanced algorithms

From my experience ChatGPT is good at designing the logical structure in a chunk of code, but most of the time can't follow your exact intentions and thus you need to fix this by altering the code.
Sometimes the editing amount is too big to worth it, while sometimes there are needed just quick fixes.

those YouTubers make a small chrome extension or some automation tasks using python
and non-programmers think ohh that is amazing
but when it comes to real project ChatGPT get stuck
cause in a real project you will need to deal with the frontend and the backend + API
even some frontend projects were more difficult than the backend

ofc, chat gpt is not created for coding. current capabilites is something like extra feature from it learning.
current use is as tool to help pointing development, what wrong or to read code function don't trust it 100% tough. basicly brainstorming.
if you think you can just prompt and get 100% completed code than no it's not working like that.
if you want to use for coding there is spesific ai created for this from github better use that one. btw it's same tool not click finish.

lol tech grow so fast now. it won't take take long. i bet we will have very smart ai at current lifetime. the question is just will it be released to public or not.

I feel like there's a lot of wishful thinking going on around here. Programmers are afraid to be replaced. They used to think they were safe because they were the ones creating all the programs, so they would always be needed. Now they see that's not quite true and are trying to convince themselves ChatGPT is no big deal and they still can't be replace.
Yes, ChatGPT, in itself, won't replace programmers. But we're maybe 1 or 2 years away from some other app that actually can replace programmers. ChatGPT is simply the beginning of the revolution, and already does a fantastic job on many levels, even though it is not perfect. Give it a few years and you will absolutely have a tool that will make a lot of programmers obsolete.
And if you don't believe me, just take a closer look at GPT-2, which was released only around 1 year before GPT-3. 1 year apart, but they appear to be 30 years apart. GPT-2 is absolutely retarded compared to GPT-3. So just imagine what we will have 1 year or two from now.
My suggestion is: Start looking for a plan B. Maybe McDonalds or construction . It's very unlikely that your cushy programming job will be there forever. A plumber is way harder to replace than a programmer.

Ideally you wanna use both tools. Sometimes you can get the answer you're looking for much faster just googling the solution for your problem. Plenty of times ChatGPT just can't give me a correct answer. Other times ChatGPT is 10000 faster than anything else and saves you a lot of times. It's really just another tool. Possibly the greatest of them all, but still, not enough to be the only one.

I don't think that big replacements will happen in article writing area any time soon,in programming it will take more time as programming is not only code writing but involves a lot more things like ux ui design trends ,preferences, market research ,backed architecture ,algorithm development etc so will be always demand

In my opinion, Chat GPT is the greatest invention of this century and we are going to get more unimaginable services from it very soon. This will bring revolutionary changes in many sectors.

For my job, I have to do Python to go faster. Functions that may seem very basic to those who know Python. But, for me, it's like Everest.
One Saturday, I said to myself, "here, I'll ask him to help me". Now I know what I have to do.
Also, don't forget that the tool is still in beta mode and that it stops in 2021. You all know here that technology moves fast, so there are bound to be areas or subjects where the tool will not be effective.
You have to take it for what it is: a tool. No more, no less.

You should always write your own code and check it, but for small snippets of code chatgpt is good, but yes you will really need debugging after that. It was not meant to write entire projects by itself, just give you inspiration/help with your code.
