The API not changing is a saving grace, I suppose. But yeah, I haven't really thought about their pricing. $8 for a blue check is whatever but for the ability to keep using the API, hopefully 'ol Elon doesn't lose the plot on that one. Then again, this might be his jury-rigged solution to address the bot situation (won't remove all of them but it does bump up the price of admission) while earning a quick buck on the side. The API won't change, so no rebinding will have to be done.
If it's paid but no rate/cap limitation then it's fine, but I feel like the free tier is gonna stay the same except for the fees, which would be horrendous.
And everyone's in the dark regarding the pricing, $100 would way too much for most.
Tiktok already went thru this with them, taking the Twitter option out on what they did before Elon took over. Clubhouse is going to be the one that's messed up since most of the users over there are there from direct connect via Twitter. That does mess up the works a great deal. On a side note, if y'all have any accounts on any platform and use Twitter to login, you're gonna wanna rebind those account on something else. I feel like they might rework how they do free APIs instead of removing it outright. But damn, paid APIs on Twitter. There's a lot to say about that, huh. I can't imagine a lot of people are happy about that change. Someone's trying to recoup their losses.
It might work, but I'm not going to put it past Elon to take away the ability to use schedulers in favor of charging for his new and unimproved Twitter one. Just going on his behaviors these last 3 months.Buffer now says their platform will still work.
There's nothing wrong with scheduled content. Newspapers need it to auto-publish their content news. It makes perfect sense if you're giving information, news or something else interesting.
I actually said that was going to be the next step next time he updates "Twitter Blue".Elon has to recover his investment. Do not be surprised if he starts charging $1 to make a tweet.
He already went up on the Twitter Blue. He's working his way to 20 bucks. This is a separate charge from that. From what I've seen on Twitter there will be no free version to stop 3rd parties from developing without his sayso, at least that's what the guys that run one of the shadowban tools was saying. The API not changing is a saving grace, I suppose. But yeah, I haven't really thought about their pricing. $8 for a blue check is whatever but for the ability to keep using the API, hopefully 'ol Elon doesn't lose the plot on that one. Things are getting worse with Twitter everyday.Twitter ads are hard to get activated. Now, this? hmmm
How long have you been trying?Getting dev access was pain itself, i was trying to build a daily quotes poster bot, they asked so many info i finally gave up requesting access.
It will close soon. Tesla to follow.
Its not our fault he paid 40 billion for this,He says he's trying to cut down on advertisers and so he's passing this on to the user.
You pass it on to the user and fewer users will use it.
If fewer people use it to tweet to their friends or run a small business, there's no point in them coming on.
Users drop.
Advertisers drop even more.
It dies.
Its not our fault he paid 40 billion for this,
Definitely not Elvlin. If anything that will get you suspended quicker, lol.if they charge it will they removel limitation? like we can spam as much we like lol
A lot of people even on the old regime have the same sentiments. It's going to be damn near impossible without a high monetary value IMHO just from how Elon's doing things moving onward.Getting dev access was pain itself, i was trying to build a daily quotes poster bot, they asked so many info i finally gave up requesting access.
I think @ScreamingMidget the issue here is that he thinks Elon can usher in a new era and make people pay for social media while making it an exclusive platform (see him blocking other social media links which is really quite petty), and the reality is people esp. now with eggs being 9-11 bucks are just not going to pay for it. He's pushing people to crap platforms like Mastadon. Or he's getting them primed for BlueSky, which will probably irritate and alienate people further with this new "Cloud service social media for the 21st century" crap Jack's on.He says he's trying to cut down on advertisers and so he's passing this on to the user.

If he doesn't quit trying to fix what ain't broke. It will close soon. Tesla to follow.
Not entirely true. The company was losing a shit ton of money before Elon took over. He just doesn't get it, making it a completely paid platform will not work out well in the long term. He's killing it and it's turning into MySpace.Twitter are becoming a paid Platforn.
The company has been losing serious money 50% since last year.
Not entirely true. He's since went up on the cost of Twitter Blue which is now for some 11-15 depending on their platform. Now he's tiering API access. Not everybody using the API makes money. Some develop things for free, like the guys that developed access to figure out shadowbanning. So this isn't just about money. This makes no sense since most of the people that use tools are using free ones and he's cutting the devs out by tiering their access. This isn't exactly the greatest economy for that.So there allowing features as payment like:
A blue badge but it $8 a month.
Api subscription as you said will cost monthly.
And eventuly twitter it self will be a full paid system.
If your earning money from a socail
Application as a developer, and your application works why would you moan about it using twitter api.
It makes perfect sense if you owned twitter to save the business or get a huge extra income.
No it doesn't. Medium did this and LOST HUGE to people like Substack. This will never be the norm. The US economy is in shambles - people literally will gravitate to things like mastadon before they shill out money for sites. It makes perfect sense if you owned twitter to save the business or get a huge extra income.
This will be normal with all socail websites eventually just way life going online.
Medium website done it years ago.
I understand it your not profiting from a twitter application your offering to public it going to cost but that of 2023 life
You are MISTAKEN. The US govt as we speak IS TRYING TO BAN TIKTOK FROM THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. Think on that. Then ask yourself are people going to pay and not know whether or not they can have access. We're not talking about us. We're talking about normies that aren't into all this tech and black hat shit. They are not.Sorry but the way life is today very expensive to live as we all no, Internet it self heading towards subscriptions.
Free going to be Imposable for many huge globel websites
Marketing only going to be for those that got a monthly disposable income to survive.
I suspected this years ago and it nearly here.
Youtube
Bing
And many others will follow.
Yup. I stop farming weeks ago when I found out most of my accounts can't run ads coz twitter deemed them as ineligibleThings are getting worse with Twitter everyday.

What happened that made the ads all of a sudden flag, you know?Yup. I stop farming weeks ago when I found out most of my accounts can't run ads coz twitter deemed them as ineligible
