Did you grow yours by manipulation?

If not, perhaps you shouldn't worry much.

Sounds like a system hickup, but could be some kind of backlink quality update in their system.

Why do people care about that? Maybe they are updating their algo for the authority score.

In your opinion what is the best metric to look for a domain name? In a term of how powerful is the domain and how is ranking in google? Thank you(Newbie question)

There is not a "best metric" to look for. It requires analysis of many different parameters if you really want to be serious about it.

Maybe they patched metric manipulation via spam redirects as Ahrefs did long time ago?

They have updated their algorithm. I hope the new system will show the correct metrics. In the past, Semrush counted spam links and increased the authority without worrying about the links' quality. I guess they would have solved the issue with this update.

They have a new way to calculate the authority score, if you get no traffic your authority score in semrush goes to the floor.

Yes I noticed, maybe algorithms are updated

Also, I much not care about authority scores my site ranking is good.

Is there even anything as 'the correct' metric?

Everybody has their own measurements, none is more accurate than the other. It's a matter of preference.

You guys literally have 0 reading abilities lol
They said its a new metric and you will probably see a drop..they literally wrote a message right next to the matric
but u see a drop, freakout , dump ur site and start an 'seo is dead' thread right away . lol

If you check the backlinks of a website, there's a chart that indicates the growth of a site's AS, there's an indication of some update there as well.

I wonder how people miss that and some hope the scorss would be back.

For me, I don't care as it doesn't mean much.
