Guys based on your experience so far do you think adding hashtags to posts can get big audience to see one's post on platforms like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube etc..?
If the account from which the post is made have little or no followers.

Hashtags work on Twitter at least.

Particularly if the hashtag is trending. Users often click on hashtags to discover related posts. You could take advantage of that.

It works sometimes, other times it appears too spammy

Thanks.
So whether or not the account has followers doesn't matter?

Yes, it doesn't matter but make your account look legit. Because people would always want to check your account out.

Actually, in here, I strongly disagree.
In my niche, I can barely see tweets with hashtags and they all get tens of thousands of views (much more than the amount of followers they have).

I don't quite understand your comment but when you go to explore/trending and click on a trending hashtag, you get to see posts under that hastag. You could swipe from top post to most recent post.

I am totally noob to Instagram. A friend told me “it's not complicated, to be visible on Instagram, you bombard with hashtags”. I followed the advice, and it's true that it works.
Well, these are not crazy numbers, but little by little, it comes.
For Twitter, you have to be more meticulous. I have the impression that on Twitter, it's more the long threads that work.
For Facebook, I'm still looking.

I'm talking about adding hashtags to posts... I see no point.
For example, "liverpool" are trending for me now (because they lost today) but many posts don't have liverpool hashtag in the posts.
@Wirel3x , there's a guy with 291 followers and he's already got over 20.5k tweet views in #liverpool and he doesn't have any hashtags in the post.

Long threads?
Do you mean cases where someone posts and continue posting underneath the same tweet?

Hashtags are very effective but do not overdo them. I usually suggest 3-5 tags per post on Instagram whenever I use hashtags. If you flood your post with more tags than that, your reach will be cut. But hashtags can be very effective if you research and know what to use. I've grown huge pages from just doing proper hashtag research.

No, something like this
"Look, let's talk about [insert a polemical topic] & let me explain why [it's bad/good/true/false] ! [Insert down arrow emoticon]"
And then, guys add several tweets.
