Funny joke.
But seriously, Google is under code red when it comes to Chat GPT.
They know full well that if Chat GPT's partnership with Microsoft goes where a lot of people think it will go, it probably spells the beginning of the end of Google's search empire.
I'm sure that Google is not going to take this lying down.
Google has already released public statements regarding their position on a chat-based type of interface.
On the one hand, they respect the technology, but on the other hand, they see it a direct threat to their current business model and how they present information.
The bigger challenge with large language model platforms like Chat GPT isn't the existing competition.
I truly believe that the year 2022 is the beginning of a brand new stage in internet communications using artificial intelligence.
The big challenge is who owns the data because just like with Dall E and other image generation AI, there's going to be some tricky legal maneuvering as to the ownership of the information being presented using these AI platforms.
I suspect that the legal smoke will probably clear up after a few years.
But right now, everything is up in the air and I suspect that an even better version of Chat GPT will enter the market sooner rather than later.
I doubt that it's going to be Google, although they are reputed to have a better version of Chat GPT's AI platform.
