Google just launched chat.google.com to tackle ChatGPT

But you know that google has this chat feature since ages? It has nothing to do with ai, its just a chat messenger within Google. U can delete this app immediately
it means it's a total flop

Funny joke.

But seriously, Google is under code red when it comes to Chat GPT.

They know full well that if Chat GPT's partnership with Microsoft goes where a lot of people think it will go, it probably spells the beginning of the end of Google's search empire.

I'm sure that Google is not going to take this lying down.

Google has already released public statements regarding their position on a chat-based type of interface.

On the one hand, they respect the technology, but on the other hand, they see it a direct threat to their current business model and how they present information.

The bigger challenge with large language model platforms like Chat GPT isn't the existing competition.

I truly believe that the year 2022 is the beginning of a brand new stage in internet communications using artificial intelligence.

The big challenge is who owns the data because just like with Dall E and other image generation AI, there's going to be some tricky legal maneuvering as to the ownership of the information being presented using these AI platforms.

I suspect that the legal smoke will probably clear up after a few years.

But right now, everything is up in the air and I suspect that an even better version of Chat GPT will enter the market sooner rather than later.

I doubt that it's going to be Google, although they are reputed to have a better version of Chat GPT's AI platform.

Internet is as tricky as it gets everyday. You never know, ChatGPT might have been secretly injected by Google to understand what users are trying to search, make, create or imagine!
I would be very surprised if that was true.

Is that so?
Gonna delete now, myself too

Yes,

Heard the news of Google Layoff because of this.

------

Google has data from many decades so they can do a lot more good stuff.
