A quick trick to improve watch time

Either in the description (riskier) or the comments section (safer - different user) you place some random time that is either right at the end or way beyond the video length.

Say your video is 3 minutes long. In the comments section say something like "amazing shot at 2:59!!!"

Or you could say "scary stuff at 4:15" which is a nonexistent time

Either way will get your video with 100% watch time.

If you look closely at the top ranked videos today, all of them are doing this. Open a new private window and see the fresh suggested videos on the home page. All of them have comments pushing to 100% video length

It's safer if you do it from the comments section, with a different user. GL!

i think what he meant to say is when your video is 3 min long, and you put "this was great 4:43", what it does is when someone sees that comment they want to see what happened in the video that was so great. and they see that your video isn't that long!, so they watch the whole video just so they don't miss out on THE GREAT THING that happened in the video!. also known as FOMO "fear of missing out".

this is a great tip! i was it before on some videos but now i understand what it is! SO THANKS FOR SHARING
but my question is was this method shared before? because how did all those videos figure out this same trick?

What? You meant to say if the video is 10min long, and someone just skip it to 9min. And the total of 9 min gets counted in watch time? Even though the viewer didn't actually watched it to 9min, but just skipped it.
