I am using search volume. io (remove spaces) and it gives 800 free searches in a day
(just copy paste all the keywords and then download csv with results)

I checked like 10 keywords, its showing volume lower then semrush. Its no good for low volume keywords.

I used SEO Minion a few weeks ago and they have done a good job in the tree-format representation. Such tools are great for new websites that can't rank on popular keywords although the organic clicks will be fewer.

Will it work on the website with low traffic like 300-500 visits per day ? Or even averaging to that value per week for example? Like is it effective on that one too.

Even if you are working on a new website, it will be a good option for keyword research.

The hardest part is figuring out the search volume

• Just scrape the PAA to the max level allowed by SEO Minion and let it fly!
• Export BOTH the CSV and the tree when it´s over
• Copy and paste all the parent topics into a separate tab
• Remove all the duplicates
• Buy $10 worth of credits with Keywords Everywhere
• Copy and paste the unique list you got from the parent topics
• Go to your keywords everywhere extension and open the "Bulk Keyword Data" option on the top left
• Run the keywords
• Export the CSV

Why did we do this whole thing for Rog?

Well, for starters...Now you know which clusters to target first, don´t you? And, if you exported the tree graph I mentioned in bulleted list #2, you now have an almost perfect view of how to interlink everything together.

Well, this isn´t always the case.

If someone is starting a fresh website on a brand new domain targeting zero volume keywords (ZVK) will be beneficial as it allows to build topical authority by targeting low to non-competition keywords.

Where would the money page (e-commerce, affiliate products, etc) fit on the map in the first post? For example, if I were to sell the "best tuna lures", where would I put that page on the map?

Here's how

Install a free Chrome extension called SEO Minion.
Google your topic of choice (in this example "tuna fishing").
The extension will inject a snippet directly in your SERP.
Use it to scrape fresh PAA data from Google.
An orange button will appear prompting "View PAA Tree".

In the example screenshot:
"tuna fishing" would be the main pillar/topic.
"how hard is it to catch tuna" would be a piece of its own, linking to the main "tuna fishing" pillar.
"how much is 600 lb of tuna worth" alongside all the other supporting phrases will feed into the hierarchical sub-cluster located one level above.
As we proceed to the right of the map, we get more granular sentences and wording that should be included within the supporting content.

You may need to make some manual tweaks & changes, but you get the gist!

Bonus Point : You can even expand the mapped content by including your own keyword research, volumes & categories to meat-up the clusters and make sure they make 100% sense to your niche/site.

Developing keyword clusters for my site was on my to-do list. This post is timely. But I have a question. What's left to write on, or brainstorm ideas for, your pillar page (in this case tuna fishing) when all the topics I'd have thought would be covered in the pillar post are being covered in supporting posts?
I understand the concept for commercial (buyer intent) keywords. Write an article about the 10 best home safes. Touch on each of them. Maybe include a buying guide at the end. Then publish 10 individual comprehensive reviews on each home safe linking back to the post on 10 best home safes etc. Etc. How does this work with informational keywords? Grateful if you could explain using your example.

Excellent information, I only have one doubt. For example if my main article is "how to plant tomatoes" and then I make several articles of "how to plant tomatoes in arkansas" "how to plant tomatoes in texas", all the states notes should go to the main one of planting tomatoes?

I love your diagram.

It's really interesting, but there seems to be a disconnect between “supporting content” and the subcluster that it's saying it's related to.

For example, how hard is it to catch a tuna?

I can see that being related to what is the hardest fish to catch?

It's kind of an outlier, but I can see the connection.

On the other hand, I do not see the connection between how hard is it to catch a tuna and how much is a 600-pound tuna worth or how much is a 700-pound tuna worth.

That's more of a pricing or marketing issue instead of a how-to type of question.

Although all of this, of course, would easily fit under the main topic, which is tuna fishing.

It's so broad that it all fits together.

On the other hand, I do see value in the phrases to target section.

But the key is to layer them correctly so they flow naturally from the main subcluster you're trying to target.

It seems like an interesting tool.

It definitely cannot be automated in terms of just scraping questions on a wholesale and blind basis.

You really have to cherry pick and you must know your topic area well enough to use this tool and produce the expected outcome.

Still, it's a nice tool to have.

It's better than nothing, that's for sure.
