I currently have mangaged VPS hosting with Scala Hosting for $49.95 USD /mo. I get 2 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM, 50 GB SSD, and UNMETERED Bandwidth. Would you consider this a decent package for the price I'm paying?

That looks pretty decent for $50. Knowhost offers a similar package at $40 with 75gb SSD and 2TB bandwidth and 2 IPs.

I'm paying $75 with A2 for roughly the same. So yeah its good, its at the lower end of the average price packages on offer from different companies. Just depends on the service doesn't it, I wouldn't worry so much about the price, as long as you are happy with support, and performance, and you can justify the cost for your site/s.

As an alternative, can draw your attention to rightservers.com managed vps. It's unbelievable to get such great service.
When I click on the "Get Started" buttons on the managed VPS page I get the following message: The page can’t be found. It looks like nothing was found at this location....

not a bad price , cheaper can be found does not mean it will be better.

This seems budgeted because most of the hosting providers have the same configuration with $100+. But the main point to think is the performance and suppport by them.

I am sorry but $100+ for a 4gig 2vcpu vps with a 50 gig ssd even if fully managed is definitely not "standard". Anything above 80$/mon for a setup like that is expensive and really is overpriced unless you have some niche features/ease-of-use that no other provider is giving you.

What work actually that VPS company does on your VPS? Maybe you will get more for less if you choose cheaper unmanaged VPS and hire someone for 5$ on fiverr

Not a bad price. But you can get 128 GB storage with the same specs and price on Cloudways' Vultr plan.

1. You don't pay some random dude on the internet to manage your vps. You either do it yourself, hire someone trustworthy that you know, or pay your provider.

2. There's a lot of stuff that goes into managed hosting. Almost everything from security to updates, configuration, software maintainence and backups are managed by them. It's basically a pay and play service at that point. You also get far superior support.

Spec wise, it's pretty average and standard.
only really nice thing is the UNMETERED bandwidth, but then again, there probably some fine small print of saying something along the lines of "at their discretion." (Nothing is unlimited honestly, ever)

I don’t understand why you will pay that high for hosting. There are good ones under $3.
