Hi,

I just wanted to start a second journey just for fun, since I've been working with this site just a long as my other site in this journey.
This blog is my second most earning blog and its built on an expired domain, I bought this in January 2022. I've also found similiar blogs in English where I translate the blog posts to my native language and post them. It's nothing much more to say but I've used money on the same things in the other journey, it's all on the same license.
  • Hostarmada
  • RankMath SEO PRO
  • Popcorn Theme
  • WP Automatic
So the blogs I've found in my niche, I've put on WP automatic and it translates it to my native language, the blog posts stays as "Private" until I've manually checked the content and translated blog post in general, then I post. I don't focus on this as much as my other blog, but I post in bulk a few times a month.

Have any questions? Please ask!

1019kr equals to $98.20 today, 15.01.23 :)

I will come with montlhy updates, starting in February.

Good luck with your journey. So, you edit each post manually before publishing it? I hope you didn't mean to keep your native language a secret, as it is visible in the thread.

Thank you, Yeah I do manually edit each posts since sometimes it's not translated as all, so just to be sure it's all fine. Nah it's not a secret that I'm from Norway ;) So yeah It's from English to Norwegian.
Good luck
Thank you!

Good luck, it will work as long as you are manually editing before publishing

Good luck with your project. Few questions if i may ask:

- how old is the expired domain you bought and how much did you get it for?

- Does WP automatic do a bulk articles translation or do you have to do it one by one? How do you manage this when the original site does not have an rss feed? (or it's deactivated)

-How many posts so far on your site and what's the average article length?

I was doing the Same in 2022 but i didn’t continue, domain was expired and big regret because i was started to getting traffic.

Following your journey.
Best wishes.

Does not remember exactly, but it has history back to 2014 atleast. I bought it for around $10, found it on expireddomains.net

Yeah, it does everything for me, I just like to manually check them one by one before I post. I only use content from websites that have .rss feed
-How many posts so far on your site and what's the average article length?

Around 350 articles. I can install a plugin that gives me the exact average in a few days, but I think the average is between 700-1000 words.

How awesome, why did you not continue if I may ask? :) I went crazy around Christmas times last month and pumped out around 100 articles, thats maybe I got a niche increase lately.

Thank you!
That's a really good idea and congrats on your progress.
Thanks, been following other great people here on the forum doing the same.

Thank You!

@Matta28 Translated content is way better than AI, I have built and sold blogs that still rank to date with translated content. You still want to treat this as a real site. Don't just copy and paste content without giving it much thought. If you want better results, don't forget that the first step is keyword research. Spend 3 - 4 weeks researching keywords in your niche that are low competition (make a huge list).

Next, build an outline for your article (you want your article to answer the search query as best as possible). Then look for 3 - 4 articles, take different parts of each to build your fresh article (translated). Once this is done, you are good to go. The reason why you need multiple articles is because you are catering to your article's outline which you have created after spending some time figuring out how to answer the search query as best as possible.

If you do this right, you will keep on ranking for a long time. Update after update will not destroy your rankings. You provide good content and people come to your site and get the answer to their query.

Make sure to run your final article through a plagiarism checker such as Quetext. You want your content to be 100% unique.

Good luck!

Not anymore since I can afford writers now, but when I couldn't I did this and it works 100%. Make sure content is useful, and has high readability and uniqueness.

How awesome! I agree that this works pretty well. I guess the content is very useful for those who are doing what my blog is about ;) Its not that many active in this niche, 5+ years ago it was alot of hobby bloggers in this nice

Thank you for sharing! ! Great ideas and tips! I just joined, so sorry if my questions are too simple.
- What should one consider when purchasing an expired website?
- Regarding the translated blog website, what are the main money-making methods, such as affiliate links, ads, etc.?
Thanks

What you have described is equivalent to writing article manually, same time and effort. The whole point was to lower your workload and only do minor edits to translations.

Why don't you do vice versa, also? I used to translate from tek.no in english :)

It is not equivalent to writing manually. A 2 - 3K word article would take me 45 minutes. If you were to write something of similar quality from scratch it would take 3 - 4 hours (if you were a good writer). At the end of the day, good content takes time even if you are ripping it off. If you're looking for a copy paste solution, then there isn't one that exists. Anything that will stand the test of time will take work. If you're not ready to put in the work then you need to find something else, IM isn't for you.

If you analyze feedback from all recent google updates you see big articles are not preferred anymore. You can post a couple 3k pillar articles but 1k words is your bread and butter.

It takes 45 mins to manually write a 1k article and 44 mins with your method. Either go for quality or quantity, there is no middle path.

Thnak you!

- I was on expireddomains.net and found a pretty cool domain with awesome history, here is a nice "How To" which you should read.

- I'm earning mostly from adsense on this one, I have putted some amazon products but I have not earned yet - and therefor I've not said anything about it in the original post.
Is this a blog site?
All I will say it's a blog, won't reveal anything more than that since it's in the native language, if it was an English blog I could say it's in the Car niche (it's not).

I have my third site, where I translate from Norwegian sites to English ;) How went it, did you get any nice traffic and/or earnings?
