This is going to be unpopular because many "SEO experts" and sirs on here make a living selling services and rely on signatures to spew their services.

Take a peak at some of the question threads on here and count the number of 0-value replies, it's extremely high. It's pure regurgitation. Real value and experience get buried. I'm not going to say names because you guys know who I'm talking about.

Or all those who never used to hardly post in Intros who are now posting daily.

Great observation, thanks!

I totally agree with the above. I was really very happy to know https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/change-log-behind-the-scenes-at-bhw.1268318/page-2#post-15973899. That is a great step taken to reduce spammy / no-value replies and I personally hope to see more such good steps taken on an ongoing basis, in order to reduce spammy / no-value replies.

Take it one step further. Remove all post requirements for Jr. Vip. Just require 1 year account age.

I see so many people who spam nonsense until they get 100 posts and then go dormant.

I got your point and you're right, but on the other hand, it keeps the forum somehow active, something is happening, so I guess this won't be the new rule.

Use the report button if it needs to be deleted, reach out to signature renter and tell him why you feel his renter is not doing justice to the forum. Besides that I doubt mods can agree to this, but this is what I feel you can do in meantime

You are old member here, so you should already know there is one single line no one should try to step over. Don't interfere with the forum finance. If you take the hire a signature from Jr.VIP forum, what do they have left. So yeah, not gonna happen.

I agree with it!
I alone very rarely reply out side the my service thread, as not want to break any rules by mistake.
Just not add so much rules as they may lead problems in long run, I witnessed one popular forum got disappears because of some nonsense rules long time ago.

It probably would decrease by a bit, but not a lot.

People will still want to increase their post counts and become Jr. VIP or contribute somehow even if they don't have a banner.

I think there's recently been a change to how Signatures are displayed on the forum. It's now once per thread. But entirely disabling it in my opinion is not a good move and may end up hurting the forum more. Who knows?

Exactly. Logically the only change that would work perfectly is removing the post count feature altogether. I should not know how many posts others or myself have.

Hi!

No plans to remove signatures, BUT, on 3 Jan, we did do an update to the signature module to limit how oftens sigs appear to deal with the problem you said in your post. Reference below.

Update to the signature module ensuring that the signature rules are followed. A signature will only appear once per user per thread. Ref.
