Envato Removes Negative Product Reviews

I've purchased a lot of Wordpress themes and plugins from Envato Market over the years and have recently discovered that Envato removes negative reviews/ratings given to products in their marketplace.

I recently left a negative review for a social auto-poster plugin I bought and the review was removed. When I contacted them to ask why, I was told that they have a rating policy that gives them the right to remove negative reviews. At the time when I left my review, I noticed that two hours earlier someone else had also left a negative review for the same plugin. Now both negative reviews are gone and the plugin only has positive reviews.

If you look around the Envato marketplace you'll see that all products have extremely good ratings. This is because negative reviews are deleted, not because all of the products are getting good reviews.

This may or may not be a surprise to you that they delete negative reviews, but I've personally spent a lot of money at Envato and I would have liked to know that the ratings/reviews aren't genuine when I was buying those products, so I thought I'd share.

Although perhaps they only delete negative comments that they consider out of place?

It is also true that given what is sold there and the ineptitude of some people, someone can buy without reading carefully what they are buying, and make a bad assessment when it would be their fault.

My negative review, as well as the one that was posted right before mine, were both legitimate reviews saying that the plugin got one of our social accounts banned right after we started to use it. Both reviews were removed.
