I guess you must edit the site and maybe add an optimized description on each tools etc to rank in the SERP?

Yeah they are profitable, not only with ads but getting others to link to your site and give you backlinks.

This whole category of sites are built exclusively by SEOs, I wouldn't go for it unless I'm a very good SEO.
