Hi

I'm looking for ways to make money while working on a full time job. I work in an office for a company that has an online store. 70-80% of the time I do basically nothing while sitting in front of the PC browsing forums like BlackHatWorld or reddit, twitter etc. I'm trying to get some ideas on what I could do in that time. I have access to the PC but just the web browser. I can download files but its very complicated and time consuming due to restrictions made on the PCs. So basically any job I can do in WebBrowser only would be perfect. I tried working as a Chat Moderator but that didn't work out because at any time I could be called by my manager and have to leave the desk immeadetly, or I get some task where I need to close my browser. So it should be something I could start and stop whenever.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

While on your job during your working hours you are using the computer that belongs to your employer or rather belongs to the company that employees you (as per information that you have mentioned).
Therefore it is not advisable that you use that work computer for any type of personal use or any type of usage that is not related to any official work, because the company will most probably be tracking the usage of the computers that belong to the company, so you can even and up losing your job.
Instead, after your working hours when you are at home, you can try internet marketing related stuffs, although it could mean burning the midnight oil sometimes.

Thank you, but I live in Germany, fortunately we have strict data privacy and protection laws that also apply here, so my employer can not see my activity if I do not give consent. (They have not asked me yet). I am wasting a lot of time at work so I'm just looking for a way to spend this time doing something productive, maybe earning some money with it.

So, I guess such strict laws would also mean that an employee should not use an employer's workplace computer for non-official work. However, you know better. Wish you all the best.

interesting, remind me of my early 20s (the good old days) you mention e-commerce site, try to improve the sales to get a bonus, show them how much the site is doing now and if you can improve in x% you would like to get a bonus is a Win/Win

I will do that if I were you, that way you will learn new stuff meanwhile you apply it in your job, and in the future that will help you when you put that in your resume, many managers are interested in hiring people that took care of any issue and generate profit from there

If you do not give them your consent ? Who who does the computer belong to ? It it belongs to the company that you are working for, so the owner of the computer being the company that you working for would not require your consent with regards to any data (any usage) on their computer even though If you are using their computer, as it is an official workplace computer.

Actually its a non profit organization so it's not possible for me to gain a bonus and nobody really cares about the sales.

I know that it seems this way but it actually isn't. They are not allowed to track my usage.

Starting a blog could be a great way to earn money, if you are already sitting in front of the computer most of the day and don't really do much, writing for a few hours can be a great choice.
Slowly build up content and make a website for it, you could also make a youtube channel and connect the two.
Blogging doesn't have to be hard or very time-consuming as long as you do it consistently.

Build a website! Could be anything but bonus points of it's something your interested in.

Hell you could make some sort of make money online blog and write about the stuff your researching while at work.

All of the editing can be done in the browser and it's pretty cheap. Around 10-15 euros for a domain and around 5 euro a month for hosting.

buy virtual desktop and go RDP (if you have access) then you can do anything without restriction

Try YouTube bro. Open YT channel something you are passion about.

Learn some basics before publish if you don't know.

Like finding trending topic, editing , scripting etc...

You have everything free on google and youtube.

Find some jobs on Microworkers during your free time.

1. Start writing - a blog with content about your passions (e.g. games). Later create e-books (e.g. game guides) with advice in that subject, and sell them on the blog. As the blog will reach about 100 articles, apply for AdSense to earn money from clicks on ads. Tip: Get assisted in writing by ChatGPT.

2. Start affiliate marketing. Join 1-2 big affiliate networks, select a few products to promote that you know something about (e.g. game consoles), write articles on reviewing those products, then start promoting the articles on social media in places where people are likely to buy those products (gaming profiles/channels/communities).

3. Browse Fiverr and find some services or products that you can also offer by yourself (e.g. promo video creation). Create your gig and then also try and promote your gig on social media to get your first sales.
