Does anyone use shopify? Does it work? Or is it best to put the effort into my own?
Thank you
Thank you
Why?Woocommerce. Shopify is trash
- Crazy apps prices: people think they can start with a $29 plan, only to end up with monthly higher fees. On wordpress all similar plugins are paid once or cheaper on the yearly plan. Why?
Shopify is fine if you are starting out with online business and maybe already have a traffic source, as they give you a fully functioning store on their platform. Their design is simple, and easy to build. Why?
Another good example- Crazy apps prices: people think they can start with a $29 plan, only to end up with monthly higher fees. On wordpress all similar plugins are paid once or cheaper on the yearly plan.
- Support: wordpress has a HUGE communicty where basically every single issue you think off has already been adressed.
- SEO: no need for detaisl here, really
- Control: with Shopify you can't control your website, it's not yours, one small little mistake and you are gone.
I can add more to the list, but I'm lazy.

Appreciate the answers guys, thank you for the insightsShopify is fine if you are starting out with online business and maybe already have a traffic source, as they give you a fully functioning store on their platform. Their design is simple, and easy to build.
But like @dvc says above, they have huge control over what you can do and you have limited ability to modify things. For example, in their terms and conditions they say they can shut your store down and don't need to give you a reason.
It will longer to learn Woocommerce/Wordpress but you will be better off learning it.
