you are right. everyone who is on BHW and paying a hundred bucks for jasper.ai or other tools per month is throwing money out of the window.
i dont necessarily think its all about the fine-tuning, especially now with chat-gpt, which makes it all so easy. mostly people fail at formulating good working prompts. you have to be precise and give information. the prompts need to be structured. you need to give them background information in order to get the best possible output.
in the last few days i wrote ios apps, python scripts, etc. using only chatgpt and common sense. it literally saved me thousands of dollars just within a few days. i used chatgpt to build my own gpt3 bots, scraping content, posting blog posts to my websites, etc. and i have 0 fucking knowledge with python. think outside the box

Same reason why people who are great at the English or (other language) pay for a writer instead of writing it themselves.

I don't pay, it doesn't make sense, it's pretty expensive and the quality isn't really good in many cases. I prefer to use Open AI than shit like Rytr.

I mean, you can say this about most things? Why pay someone to edit video, Davinci Resolve is free. You either invest time, or money. We all manage these two resources differently. A lot of successful business are about scale, and if you simply take the time to want to learn and do everything yourself, you might take a lot longer to reach your goal. Oh, how I know this well...
