Move site to another domain

Hello, i have a blog and i want to move it from my current domain to another domain. I see different metods but i wanna know which one is the best, i don t wanna lose nothing. Thank you!

If you're using WP it would be a piece of cake,
Changes the URLs in settings, install better search replace to replace all the old links and add htaccess redirect to the new domain,

There are guides about each of these everywhere, just a couple of searches to get your hands into them,

Ranking could be impacted for a couple of days/weeks in fact, but everything will settle for sure

Install duplicator Plugin, create a backup, Upload that to new server, connect with database and you are done! That's easiest Method.

Hello, I have a very NOOB question : my old domail will expire in 4-5 months. All the content will be indexed from the new domain or i will have to keep paying the old domain to don`t lose traffic and index ?

if your website have traffic then it is batter to stay on old domain

I already move it, it was a s**t tld, ".site", don t was a lot of traffic ...

If it got some solid links or anything worth paying for, you better keep it,
Otherwise, simply keep the redirect until the domain expires

If it was a poor tld and didn't have lot of traffic then you shouldn't worry about any loss of rankings.

You still have 4 to 5 months left for this domain so once you migrate the site to new destination, add 301 redirects in .htaccess file and forget about it. 4 to 5 months is a good time for Google to know that your site has been migrated to its new home.

Thank you, i think i will renew the old domain with 1 more year.

I was added full redirection for the old domain in htaccess, but i think i will renew the old domain one more year or i don t know, i m still thinking. Anyway, thank you for the info.

Alright that will also be good. It will give you one more year on a safer side. Also it is not costly to renew the domain, so it should be worth it.

BTW, how many pages are there that you have migrated?

I don t know exactly but not much pages cuz i have only 30-32 posts and oher pages like privacy, disclaimer etc...

Ok, I understand. 30-32 posts is not a big deal. There is no reason for you to worry.

Once you have that 301 in place start working on your new domain. All the best mate.
