Where do you get your links? Most if not all links I purchased on BHW recently suck monkey balls. This includes all the major sellers.

He has his own backlink service, so I guess he uses the links he sells.

However, now with the AI articles going crazy out there, links will become more important than ever. It is the only way to vet quality websites.

Backlinks work. They always work long as they're good quality and on good sites that generates traffic.

Only people who say they don't work are those who were either very lucky with not building links for their first projects and have stuck with that or those who are intimidated with the work needed to acquire good links.

Those are the people who know links work. Half of the people will not take action after reading that post, saying that they've always been unlucky and SEO won't be any different.

well the algorithm rank based on how much people direcly go to them,retention etc and how much other site refer to it.
so what kind of new model that can tell them new website is good or bad? other than how people refer to it?

I don't think anyone disputes that backlinks work. Not anyone smart anyway.

I think the real issue with buying backlinks nowadays is the threat of getting slapped somewhere down the line. There are always at least a couple little trails of breadcrumbs you leave when you buy a significant amount of artificial backlinks and any future update could catch one.

Google has access to all of these forums too and it's ignorant to believe they aren't buying backlinks from all of the major sellers to try and reverse engineer what's currently being done.

People will always have success with blackhat methods if they're good at what they do, but that doesn't mean you aren't sacrificing the longevity of your site.

The real challenge, though, is getting to the top 3 for anything with decent search volume. Will be interesting to see what happens after another month of link building. Chances are your site will get stuck and won't budge no matter the number of extra links you throw at it.

This does happen quite a bit. Depends on the SERPs. Many times, you have top 10 results, where a good portion of the SERPs have been there for 5-10-15 years. Their algo isn't just going to let you barge right in. The key is to continue building, fine-tuning the on-page, adding supplemental content for interlinking, etc.. I also find it beneficial to let the SERPs breathe. Sometimes I'll hit pages with links hard for 3-4 months, then take a month or two off. Rinse and repeat once the SERPs start getting stagnant.

Its true that there are some links which simply don't work any more or like they used to. If you get quality links though you will almost always get a positive effect.

Thousands, but again, I have hundreds of clients and track thousands of SERPs. Of course, every situation is different. Competition, website authority, type of backlinks, quality of on-page, etc... It's impossible to give a one size fits all to every situation.
