I know prevailing thought is that google sandboxes new domains in SERP--but what about new businesses on GBP?

I have a business started in the last few months on a domain registered earlier in the year. It was activated on GBP as a service area business in October and finally verified with an address at the beginning of December. The website appears in search and ranks IMO ok for a brand new site in a competitive niche. The GBP was filled out pretty quickly and gets hit with updates 1-5 times weekly.

I've noticed when searching for the business name (even on devices not belonging to me) that the knowledge panel doesn't always show. If you expand the three pack from searching the business name, it shows several other businesses first despite the exact match. If you search keywords in both organic and map, it comes up around the middle of the results which seems reasonable for a brand new business.

I also cannot seem to get the business.site to index. Comparatively, I found a GBP for a business verified years ago without a business.site claimed, claimed the site and added just a paragraph and it indexed the following day.

The business name is a regional location name plus service name so I wonder ifit might be a case where google associates the business name with keywords more broadly. (Think along the lines of Great Lakes Carpet Cleaners.)

Is this an issue of the business name, google is just slow to understand new businesses, or an actual sandboxing of its own properties?

This is how it works, google tests new stuff, by showing it randomly, this is their way of finding out who is "worthy" to be even shown

There is no "sandbox"

It's all based on trust and how many datapoints you have.

New sites and GBPs don't have much data so Google doesn't know what to do with them. You can speed up the process by doing things like social media traffic, driving directions, etc.
