Hi,

My dream is to create something useful for this community. And have my own marketplace thread someday.

I want to develop something cloud-web based, so decided to choose Django framework, and Python language. Btw, I am not starting from scratch, but the last time I ever touched the codes were like 10+ years ago and it was in totally different languages, and I was not even an expert, so this will be a fresh journey and I need to remember lots of things.

Today is my first day.

Meanwhile you can give me future project ideas for this community also.

1st day:

- I visited w3schools, and checked if my Python is installed. And downloaded Python from the official website. Now I am reading documentations. Will update this thread later by my journey lists. First I need to learn programming and Python basics, then I will learn Django as it is one of the most popular web frameworks.

- Windows CMD couldn't find Python at all, so installing was pain in the ass but I finally managed to install Python!

- Created my first helloworld.py file, and wrote my first print helloworld code, and it worked like a charm on windows cmd!

- I also realized you can code Python in windows-cmd directly, it can be very quick to test some codes.

I would recommend better resources than w3schools tho.

Its long, but it's far more in-depth than w3schools.

You might also want to setup an editor/ide. Vscode is a popular choice. Here's a guide to set it up for python:

1st day:

First day is completed. What did we do and learn on the first day? Here is the summary:

- I visited w3schools, and checked if my Python is installed. And downloaded Python from the official website. Now I am reading documentations. Will update this thread later by my journey lists. - Learned about basic Syntax, Python comments, Variables, Data Types, Numbers, Casting, Strings, Booleans, Operators, Lists, Tuples, Sets, Dictionaries

- Learned basic conditions and loops. If, elif, else and for/while loop

- Tried so many codes and practices on my Windows command and created dozens of simple .py files with short practice codes on the computer

- Tomorrow I will download my first IDE / Code editor for Python.

PyCharm looks nice. Do you recommend it? Looks like it has a free edition.

I personally would not to be a beginner. Pycharm can be intimidating because of its features and when you are new, you should get more familiar working with the command line/terminal.

Vscode has very good support for python and is free.

2nd day:

Today I had severe headaches, sometimes it happens to me. So I had to took 2 painkillers, but anyway we have to keep it up till the end. So I still worked to learn for hours, progress is important. Because of my pain, some things got complicated today especially when it comes to OOP / Class inheritance etc. subject. But I guess I understood and it will get better in time by practice.

- Learned about defining functions, creating and calling them, wrote and called some functions with parameters

- Learned about lambda functions, it is a very fast and small way to create functions

- Learned about importance of Scope in Python, and global keyword when you declare variables

- Learned about OOP (Object oriented programming) concepts, classes, objects, inheritance etc.

- Learned about modules, and importing modules / libraries

- Learned about built-in libraries such as math or dates, and functions of them

- Learned about basic RegEx - regular expressions and searched for strings or specific values from txts

- Learned error handling: "try except finally"

- Learned about User Input and String Formatting

- Learned File Handling in Python, and it's methods about how to open and create files, append/write or delete and close files

I guess we are done with basic Python knowledge for now, in the next days, I will practice more and get into databases such as MySql, MongoDB and also Django framework lessons. Then we will start creating simple scripts and tools.

3rd day:

- Learned basic CRUD (create read update delete) commands in SQL

- Learned MySQL and mysql.connector in Python, all the basic commands like create a database, open a database connection, create table, insert into columns, selecting datas from a database, deleting datas or tables, how to prevent SQL injections etc.

- Learned MongoDB with Python

- Learned about requests module and how to send http get/post requests with Python

5th day:

I am so sick for the last few days. So I can not work. But I will get back to lessons as soon as possible.

- Just watched dozens of videos about Python and it's creator, and learned some tips from him and stories about him

7th day:

- I switched to C# language. Because it looked much more clear and advanced to me and I am a Microsoft and Windows fan

- I loved that we have to use curly braces { } code blocks and you have to end every command with ;

- So as a web framework, I will learn ASP.NET Core MVC. It is open source and cross platform also

- Downloaded Visual Studio Community edition

- Studied all the basics that I learned in Python such as variables, loops and conditions, data types etc. in C# this time

- Studied OOP concepts in C# but it is much more complicated than Python OOP, so this will take a little time to comprehend

- Wrote some codes and tested it with Console apps in Visual Studio. I heard Visual Studio is one of the best and most robust IDE in the world

- Created some Windows Forms apps to test C# codes

- Learned how to send http requests get/post to web pages and basic data crawling with C#

- In the next coming days I will develop some simple custom bots for myself before we get into more advanced topics

10th day:

Revolution day at the same time. Created my first working and functioning windows forms app.

- Learned too many things on C# this week, also got so many help from Stackoverflow and ChatGPT

- Created a custom bot for myself. It is a Girl Finder Software. Features:

• It is scraping and finding girls / just pink profiles from a question-answer platform
• It skips men
• It has a Direct Message Sender
• It has a feature that prevents messages to the same users, so only new girls will receive PM from my bot
• It is generating some random nice first Hi messages with templates
• It also has some statistics feature that counts how many girls received PM from me

- With this app, I sent thousands of messages to girls, so I can talk with hundreds of them manually.

- In the next coming days, I will get into more web based things such as ASP.NET Core lessons, since this was Windows Desktop based app but it was fun too!

While every one of programming languages will give you huge advantages and is very valuable to learn, I would suggest focusing on javascript and node.js based stuff.
