So I’ve heard a few times from some of the people I know that Google kind of have a type of “agency” accounts which lets you create sub MCC accounts. The fun part is, Google pays a commission to these agency accounts. I did not believe this at all because there are absolutely no information about it on Google.

To my surprise, I got to try one of these sub accounts and the “agency” account owner gave me 20% of the total ad spend. This account is clearly an usual MCC but key point is the currency and location is set to Nigeria. ( Invoice account probably)

I’m wondering if anyone know how this is done? Owner of this account gets another commission on top of what he pays to me so I’d like to do some digging around and find what this is.

That is incorrect. However, Google Ads does sometimes reward their eligible partner agencies with "points" for achieving certain spending targets. And those "points" can be used to get Google-branded stuff from the Google store !!!
Apart from that Google Ads may invite eligible partnet agencies to participate at different events.

This is the first time ever in my history of playing hard & deep with Google Ads, I am hearing about a Google Ads agency GIVING OUT a % of ad spend to their client.
It works the other way around : Google Ads agency or someone with an agency or MCC Google Ads account charges their client a % (usually around 15%) of ad spend. And in such a case, how can they again give out some 15% (in your case 20%) back to the client ? It would mean that they are operating a free charity business.
However if it a invoice account or a grants account, then such a "cashback" may be possible, because the provider of the ads campaign may end up not paying for the invoice in Google Ads, when it's payment time arrives and in grants accounts, ads run for free (though not all niches can be run in grants accounts).

Thanks for your reply. I’ve been running Google ads for my clients for more than 5 years now. I’m well aware of how to charge the clients based on their ad spend ( either commission or flat fee in my case based on how regular they work with me)

I also know about the partner accounts and goals but this is totally new to me. That’s exactly why I’m looking for answers here.

I believe maybe this is a blackhat method but for sure it’s not a churn burn type.

Google used to have a great promotion for a few agencies back in 2018-19 where they paid us a % of the clients' ad spend. They stopped doing that when Covid hit, but maybe they found a loophole or something that made it still work somehow.

Thank you! I think this is probably it. Did this program have a name or they just manually selected agencies for this program?

I don't think it had a name. It was just an additional incentive to grow accounts.

All russian agencies had payback from Google, so yes it's real. And i know that cause I compared CPC's between my own and agencies and there were no hidden fees or anything.

Only problem was that they were aplying VAT, while in some countries you can skip that part

yes, i've also used russian accounts where you only pay like 85-90% of your media spend, however no fucking clue how they did it :D
