OK this is my scenario.. I have a website that is about 2 months old. I generally write one or two posts a week. Some of the posts are rewritten from content that is on the Internet some are not.

I always make sure to rewrite any content scrapped and make it 90% unique.

Posts start to rank within the top 100..anywhere between the top 10-100

I've had about 5 or 6 of these posts just conpletly stop ranking not even in the top 100. So I figured maybe it's because the site is new or because the uniqness wasn't unique enough.

But one particular post ranked number 2 for its keyword for about a week. This post was one of my posts, I wrote it from scratch, it wasn't rewritten. But after a week it conpletly disappeared.

I did a plagerism checker on it, and it's now only 50% unique, two other websites have used 30% of my content on each of their sites.

One of the websites now ranks number 2 for the same keyword my site ranked for. Its not a 100% content copy but 30% matches enough to see that they have tried to rewrite my content.

Both of the websites that used the 30% of my content where created after my post.

Surly Google can see my post was written first?

What can I do to rectify this? What can I do for the future to stop this from happening?

it's always like this on new blogs

your blog has a small age and weak metrics, need time and need links

Keep posting more posts, don't copy and rewrite , rewrite is still duplicate content as there is no new or different "information".
Forget about others copying till you reach certain authority like da 20.
You can always file a dmca takedown.
Good luck.

Update your content and add plugins like WP Content Copy Protection to protect your articles.

As in update my content so its unique again? Will the rankings return if I do this?

New blog have google dance up an down , the rankings would be stable from time to time just focus on Content at this time over .

Honestly I get that, but for my page to be ranked 2nd and then a site with my content rewritten to rank instead of it I don't believe it's Google dance.

Dont try to understand google dance and wonder why someone ranks higher than you if they dont have any backlinks etc .Start by working hard ,write more articles ,be consistent etc

Your primary focus can be on creating content that is relevant and engaging because your site is brand new.

It's hard to say. But if this is the reason you will gain your rankings. There are other factors like on page, backlinks etc.

You don't have to update it. Just keep adding new unique content and building quality backlinks.
