Hey guys
So upon all the sad news of Namecheap customers getting banned left and right on even seemingly whitehat sites, I feel uncomfortable having them as my domain registrar. I only use them as domain registrar for my three sites. Never for hosting. My businesses are 2 grey hats and 1 black hat (CPA).

Now I heard Namecheap is a good one to embrace. What is your experience with Namesilo vs Namecheap regarding situations like this? I need to run the fcking marathon away from Namecheap today itself.

Had 2 domains with them a few years ago, but since I'm from Europe, things weren't that flawless as it should been for whatever reason.

been using them for a decade without a single (personal or from someone else) complaint.

what ?!?! I'm from Europe, too (Romania, more specifically), and I've not had (nor have heard of) a single issue with them.

What was your negative experience with them?

Might be a personal thing, im using protonmail.ch e-mail address and they said back then to change to gmail to make the support possible to reply (??) so not a huge problem, but I was just doing a test project with them.

Never had a problem with namesilo for years.

The only problem with namesilo is the price increase over the years. It used to be one of the cheapest, but not anymore. Nevertheless, it's not expensive either.

+1, I moved all my domains from NC to Namesilo since years back, never heard anything bad either.
Looks like I will be doing this today itself, for peace of mind. I value mental health as much as I value my businesses.

Is your domain black hat?

No, my domains are not blackhat domains. But never heard anyone having serious problems with them as people had with NC thru the years back, NC is in my eyes a shady company since atleast a decade if not more.

They have good prices especially for renewal better than godaddy for sure, but their outdated 2005 dashboard confuses me every time.

I have had several hundred with them, never an issue with transfers in or out.

Minor gripe is I don't like the speed of the nameserver propagation as it's not instant. I like their interface for the most part to see many domains status for auto renew, nameservers listed, all the info on one page.
Privacy is free at their low pricing for .com's.

this is a good domain registrar

I have several domains there, everything is ok

I like Name Silo, but nowadays I use Porkbun because the renewal fees are cheaper.

have used them for 9 yrs now. no issues spring to mind.

I have used them for many years, at one point had over 50 domains with them and never had any issues.

Thank you, guys. I moved out two domains to Namesilo last week. When I tried, my third domain is still not mature for migration as it is not up to 60 or 90 days ago that was registered according to ICAAN if I remember correctly..

I have a ton of domains but I have to say that they have been increasingly moving up their prices, slowly but steady. They used to be the cheapest and most recommended in this forum, but nowadays, I would not say the same.

Still, they are probably one of the most robust out there. My only concern apart for the price, is their TTL are too slow for my taste, 3600 is the best possible. I have some other registrars with DNS with TTL as low as seconds or 600.

Currently I'm recommending Porkbun.
