Hi all, I'm currently working on a local rank and rent project covering quite a large (local) area.

I'm going to be using multiple GMB's.

Is it easier to rank each GMB with its own unique website or is it possible ranking each GMB with a page from 1 website?

So 1 website with multiple location pages and each page has its own GMB.

Or....

Multiple websites, each with its own GMB?

Which is better from an seo perspective?

Use 1 website, and point each GBP to it's own unique inner page.

No sense in creating multiple GBPs and trying to optimize all of them. Create one and consolidate all your efforts there.

But what about citations for the GMBs? You could only use citations on 1 location?

CItations are over rated anyway, but if you have multiple GMBs then you have multiple locations. The address, phone number, and website are going to be different, but there's going to be a GMB that verifies that info too.

I've found citations to be effective....

I've never tried it this way, but it sounds far easier....

I mean, they have their place, just not nearly as effective as before. I remember just a few years ago you could get a few dozen citations and rank #1 in the 7 pack. Now it seems like they're a minor signal.

So if citations arent that good for ranking GMB's....what are?

Ranking your GMBs, after the basics, is best done with local 4G mobile CTR and GPI, Google Profile Interactions. If you want to message me I can share more, too much to cover in a thread.

When it comes to multiple locations. splitting your efforts up between multiple domains is usually not the best move.

Franchises build out separate pages within a single domain, and dedicate the page to the location.

Unless the businesses were wildly different (such as a different brand), more domains would be a tougher (and more expensive) hill to climb.
