I've seen citation sites with fewer links

As a rule of thumb, the best links to post in the forum, generally are, profile links from high authoritative sites, or any other parasitable site (including wikis)

Comments, forums and any kind of mass link site is not greatly appreciated generally, because they are meat for blasters (basically anyone could find this with a blaster just in case anyone really wanted to link from here, preferably, from an automatic standpoint, to a lower tier site)

Is this a backlink I would take for my money site? No

There is real value in a no follow... it let's Goog know we are not trying to game their system when indeed we are.

My personal, and customer sites are 90% - 95% d0follow ratio so I also add some but not like this high DR ones. Some organic looking ones.

from experience, for the nofollow best to go with local seo as well. even social media from links work great

For Google any single element of code is a simple suggestion. They don't take anything for granted. Nofollow in comments is obviously a wrongly coded UGC but in Wikipedia is better than a bjob

Nofollow links are OK, but it's debatable if spammy comment links are worth it. By now Google should have made a filter with it already.
