i dont think google requires postcard anymore

The only time I ever did this was in 2015 and it was with a post card. It enable the company I was working for to take control over their local google results page. It was free and took about 14 days total turn around time. It was extremely easy as everything was legit.

With might take a long time. Depending on the niche, some postcards might not even arrive these days.
Without is tricky - buying the service is risky. Most GMBs dont last more than a few weeks (again, depending on the niche)
