Most senior BHW member ?

Really impressing to see a man at this age tying blackhat methods. I never image my grandpa can do that but I will have a serious discussion with him. Keep up the good work oldman.

Oldest BHW member! What a surprise..!! I am truly honoured......I never expected....never thought it remotely possible.....in such exulted company....I mean....actually....ME! And I don't even have an acceptance speech ready....how can I ever thank you enough......?

Do I get like a medal or something.....BHW oscar perhaps?

I mean......after all these years.......recognition at last........all my hard work....day after day....hour after hour.....logging in each day....reading all those posts....looking up all those new words you guys use......and the downloading! Don't even get me started on the downloading......

What was I saying?......Oh yes.......thank you one and all.....but my special thanks to Avril...my wife of 40 years....without whose steadfast support in providing endless cups of strong coffee whilst (Younger guys look up 'whilst') I persued my chosen path of BHW immortality...... has been instrumental in helping me reach such lofty heights......

And in finishing may I say that I am available for personal appearances at very short notice.....

To see the invention of the automobile and the internet in one lifetime, and live to use them both. Wow.

BTW, was Abe Lincoln as tall as they say?

jk - love your new title. ;)

you can use reputation instead of that :)

My grandaughter sent me this a while ago....thought I would share......(Might even get rep for sharing...?)......just about sums it up....
[snip]
And if you had a 3.5' floppy
You hoped nobody found out
[snip]

Actually, your granddaughter (or the original author) is showing their age.

Back in the day, the Floppy weighed in at 5.25', and it was really floppy. The Stiffy was 3.5'

It got messy when you started with the double sided and double density products.

Now, those were the days. :-)

I started work at 15 as an apprentice signwriter.......5 long years of sable brushes, enamel paints and a mahl stick (Look it up).....took me years to learn all the different styles....years more to write a near perfect 'S'......

Then one day a guy walked through the door with a PC under one arm (Well... wheeled it through on a trolly actually...)...and a vinyl plotter/cutter under the other.....

Told us some story about this electronic gizmo being the future of signmaking.....until we showed him the door.......

Two weeks later he was back.....with his 9 year old daughter.....

He set the PC up....and his daughter tickled a few keys.....and she produced signs that were astounding.....perfect square corners...perfect circles.....in a fraction of the time it took me....

Ahhh well.....time for a nap......whilst xrumer runs......

Thanks for comments guys....feeling a bit down that no-one has come forward to challenge me for the title.........crap....now I REALLY feel old......

lol Falconer...just think of all the smiles you've put on faces such as mine for realising that, at 44, I wasn't a contender for the title!! ;)

Wow I felt old at 40 now its not so bad.:D

Congrats to you. It's good to know that age isn't really a factor on the net. Just keep an open mind (which is not dependent on age) a willingness to learn, experiment and implement, and you'll be besting a lot of us.

You deserve a complimentary JR Vip Upgrade.

Why not, there are others with 50 post counts or less that have it. Yet they dont have the life knowledge you have.

Couple of quotes that keep me going......

"How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?" ~Satchel Paige

"Old age ain't no place for sissies" ~Bette Davis
