Hello everyone,

I'm working on a customers site, and started to backlinking it.

in 1 week, the DA went from 2 to 5 , but the PA went from 8 to 22.

I don't really understand why backlinks (that points to the DOMAIN) boost the PA 4x as much as the DA, while if im correct, the PA is about content.

PA/DA are random number generators and all in all, utter bullshit, just as everything from MOZ.

They are based purely on offsite factors.

https://moz.com/learn/seo/page-authority
Page Authority is calculated in the same way as Domain Authority, but at the individual page level. Page Authority is based off data from the Mozscape web index and includes link counts and dozens of other factors (more than 40 in total). Importantly, it does not take into consideration specific on-page elements like keyword use or content optimization.

If MOZ is bad, then is there any way to tell a spam score of a domain?
SpamZilla, but it's paid and the spam score metric is not always the best way to appraise how spammy the domain is.

I did a GSA backlink huge blast on brand new domain for a customer & da went from 0 to 20 in 1 week.
Pa is page authority and domain is domain authority.
Page authority is for only specific page/url( i am not 100% sure on it) but da is overall main domain authority i am sure

That's why I don't understand because this is what I did, like 10-20k backlinks and the PA went up 4x as much as the DA while the backlinks were half homepage half to one page only.

Keep it in mind all backlink do not show up.it will show increase up day by day

Only way to really tell is by hand checking the domain properly. Spam score is an absolute joke. Spamzilla is a bit more precise, but it's still not good enough.

DA PA Increase is not an big deal , its matter of time that how moz crawls the links and determine the DA PA for the site .

DA - PA works weird for sure.

I have one site which I am working upon everyday. Its DA was 18 two days ago. Today it reduced to 17 ... ha ha.

I have another site that was lying idle for past many centuries. Its DA was 7. Today it is grown to 12 ... :D :D

I am amazed how intricately you are calculating the correlation between the growth of the two! Do not stress much about it though. Once you start building good quality links the scores will automatically improve. The fluctuations will come and go but overall the good quality backlinks will help it grow for sure.

DA/PA is totally bullshit.. even though there are a few guys on Fiverr increasing DA/PA to 60+ in a few bucks. google rankings don't depend on DA PA!

Nothing to do with ranking
I'd prefer DR even though that can be manipulated as well
But it's effective to shortlist a few domains for manual audit

Its more than a few bucks and its worth it. DA does matter. They use redirects from high DA sites.

my DA has always increased a little after good links, and PA has always increased strongly, from any links
