Is Direct Admin good?

Hello, about to buy Direct admin as its $5 a month. Used webhosting cpanel before. Don't have linux knowledge but I guess I can watch how to install directadmin on vps. After that I guess it will be easy.

Due to budget issue for this site, I can't go cloudways.

Is directadmin good and user friendly like cpanel?

Yiu can get it from Hostkoala at $5 per year. It's much better and has a brilliant UI than cPanel. That's my personal taste tho.

Already on DO and going from vps to shared seems a hassle now. Btw, how many real time visitors from tier 1 countries can hostkoala handle on an info site?

You should not move from VPS to some shared hosting as that would be like downgrading to me. I use VPS myself... And I have heard good things about DO as well.

You can just have DirectAdmin installed on your VPS. It's really that simple.

Of course but I am still asking how much can Hostkoala handle if you know? Maybe in future it is suited for low to medium size projects. That's why I wanted to know how many real time visitors it can handle at a given time for an info site?

You should actually head over to their site and check for bandwidth in each of their plan.

I purchased a DA plan from HK early this year. Unfortunately, the domain that's associated with DA is still unused, so I can't say how DA impacts the live domain / site yet. But aside from the lack of automated backups and the lack of good log analyzers (like Awstats) I'm not seeing any difference to be honest. It's nearly identical (in interface) to cPanel

oh yeah, I got JetBackup, too, I don't know how I missed it LOL. I don't see Awstats anywhere, though (see screenshot)...

Now, like I said, I never did anything with my DA plan after purchasing it, I only skimmed over the icons and gave my opinion on what I saw on the surface, so everyone reading my previous comment don't jump at my throat for lying to you as it wasn't intentional. Such oversights are frequent among daydreamers like myself, so I should be excused

Price, DA tends to be much cheaper and doing the same job.

I purchased both a cPanel and a DA plan at the same time, so it's not only because it was cheaper but mostly because I wanted to try something different. Monopolies are never good, so I feel the need to create competition for every giant that exists

I used cPanel and now I use both, I like DirectAdmin, its cheaper and works fine as cpanel.
