Hey. My account got hacked somehow because I was following around 300-400 accounts and now I'm following over 2600 (also i'm getting followed by random accounts) and it keeps growing although I changed my password twice.

I reported this to Instagram but no reply yet.

I checked the login activity and only my phone appears.

What can I do to make it stop and remove all of these new accounts I'm following? It's a pain to manually unfollow them.

Do you know a better way to reach out to Instagram?

Your account has been brute-forced into and is now being used for mass-follows, likely to fulfill the orders of some panel (aka "real followers"). Your best course of action is to change your password again, terminate any other session that isn't from your personal device and subsequently enable 2FA.

I'm facing the same problem. looking for someone who can solve the issue.

Did you just try to change your password and add 2 step verification?

This is what might have happened, I have seen some of my accounts facing the same issue and it followed users like big accounts, celebs, verified profiles etc. And as usual when I checked their growth stats, They purchased followers during that period.

Make sure in 2fa, You add authenticator one and whatsapp code one as these are the most important of all apart from having a 12 digit password which is not easy to guess.

I already changed my password twice and enabled 2fa. It seems it might've stopped.

Do I have to manually unfolllow all of these accounts? I'm asking cause instragram doesn't let you unfolllow a lot of accounts at once.

Unfortunately yes. You can risk using a third-party tool but your account has already compromised enough as it is and used for automation, I don't think you wanna give IG anymore reason to outright ban your account.
