Do you take Modafinil?

Just googled this, feels like a lot of dots connected haha.
I wouldn't say caffeine makes me calm, but it doesn't make me energetic, to be honest I only drink it for the taste. The only effects I can feel when I have too much coffee are jitteriness and anxiety, when that happens I get tired which just defeats the purpose of drinking it in the first place.
Tiredness and impaired focus are normal on high doses of stimulants. I think it's better to take 200 - 250 mg of caffeine and go to the gym. And while working, stick to 100 - 120 mg.

Taste is fiendish. I spend $100 per month on energy drinks cause they're sugar free and it tastes like juice but even better. Crazy what these companies do. They don't make non-caffeine and sugar free. It's always sugar free plus caffeine.

Dont go above 200 mg and dont take it for a longterm ,I have used it for 3 months in a row and ended up in Emergency Department with high sugars ! Just an advice its not worth taking it

About 2 hours I popped my first 200mg of Modafinil and I still feel tired but it's like I am still motivated todo my work haha.
Does anyone here take it? Let me know what your experience with it is.

P.S. I'm not going on a marketing forum for medical advice, just want to hear like-minded people's experiences.
Man don't take it.. Yes, it used to be awesome to work. 200-400mg can make you more motivated to be productive yet I stopped after day 4...

My kidneys started to awfully hurt. Trust me it's not worth it. Keep your kidneys healthy and you are good.

It can keep you "awake" for a couple hours but it's not made to keep you awake. It can be taken to increase your concentration and motivation to work.

Again... I strongly discourage anyone to take this unless your doctor says otherwise.

I was never planning to take it consistently, maybe once every 2 weeks when I have a lot of work to get done haha.
Do you think taking 1 x 200mg tab would be fine twice a month?

I started taking Ritalin after being diagnosed with ADHD 6 months ago while doing some off days where I take modafinil instead.

Ritalin works great every time at the beginning or after a long break but it has a lot of side effects for me. It makes me feel like a robot. I can focus on the tasks but I just cannot talk and interact with people. It's hard to explain but it kills my social skills cuz it makes me so alert and anxious. Puts me in fight or flight mode. On top of that at first, it makes me super horny but after months of taking it I have found out that my dick isn't working until the medication withdraws itself from my bloodstream typically at the night and only then i can have sex lol. I mean I still can get hard but the erection is like 50 % of what I can experience while being off that medication.

I know it sounds funny but there is no way that I could work without any meds in front of my pc and Adderall is illegal in my country so I'm just not taking it around social meetings.

Modafinil on the other side... it's a medication to treat excessive sleep problems that prevents you from basically falling asleep. For me after trying 100, 200, and 400 mg it's basically like a better version of coffee/caffeine but nothing like stimulants such as Ritalin.

At the end of the day, you have to understand that there is always a balance in nature. If you overstimulate your dopamine neurotransmitters and receptors you will experience as big of a negative crash in the future as the positive effects were that those meds gave you. Your body adapts and every stimulant has a great effect at first but provides many bad side effects and diminishing returns in the long run. Just try to quit caffeine for a month and drink 1 cup of coffee after 2 months. It's gonna make you feel euphoric. Stimulants are bad to mess up with. I still remember the first Ritalin dosage that made me feel like a superhero but the longer you take those meds you start to realize that they do more harm than good to your body especially if you have an addictive personality like me.

Someone I used to know got paranoid about their surroundings and thought to kill themselves. That person was delusional next months and destroyed all their friendships. Some research seems to exist about this substance called modafinil but not enough to judge if it's safe. Best way to take this is to not. Research chemicals are for rats. And for me modafinil, armodafinil etc are not better than amphetamines and traditional drugs.

I agree completely, stimulants are only good for rare use. You need to have the discipline to not get addicted to be able to take them once in a while.

Think like this.

If you take amphetamines, methylphenidate, modafinil etc, each day you will make your reward system work 1% less efficiently.

Then you will need to revert that.

I've done something similar with alcohol. I haven't been drinking and meeting alcoholics for a year now, but it's a battle to come back to your normal self.

You want something that won't fuck with your reward system and will require conscious effort.

Better to stay away from any such drug ,You don't know which pill you take might be the fatal pill which decides you rest of your life on Diabetic medication or Dialysis for kidney failure ,just my 2 cents hope others also can shed more light on this !

You wont know the pain of being Diabetic. Better to avoid any medicines for fun purpose.

Yeah. Avoid sugar too, so you don't have that pain when you are 60.

Clean your room and toilet everyday. Improve little things. It will make your brain feel like you're moving forward.

i remember when modafinil had lot of hype behind it. almost every internet marketer was talking about it and the benefits it had for their productivity. nobody had anything bad to say. seems it works for a lot of people.
i thought about buying it a few times. i stick to caffeine & L-theanine combo if i need a boost.

Damn that sounds tragic, are you sure you weren't already pre-diabetic before taking it and it pushed you over the edge?

From most member's replies in this thread, it seems like if you keep taking Modafinil, then finally Modafinil will take you !!!

I'm not for sure because . The place I work has an every year Medical checkup man and woman has to undergo specific tests and common test for both genders like Diabetic and hypertensive screening ,thyroid screening etc. I was very normal and Actively going to gym and no family history of Diabetes.

I have previous drug experiences plus saw a lot of trainwrecks in my life.

I'm biased. There is a positive side to it for sure. But not for me anymore, after all these pesky alcohols and pills.

Nootropics and minerals are true brain and body boosting things. It's the true, original and genuine support for your body.

Which nootropics do you recommend?

This, plus cold showers (or baths). Sounds like some guru bullshit but trust me, these really are a game-changer. Plus, once you learn about what cold water exposure does to your dopamine and how it all affects your motivation, focus, and energy levels, you'll understand WHY they work.
Cold baths once or twice a week would be a game changer?

The daily cold showers are not my cup of tea.

Which nootropics do you recommend?
Magnesium citrate + vitamin b6 - that does wonders for my mood stability.

Caffeine - you need to take tolerance breaks now and then.

Alpha-GPC / CDP-choline - just a little cognition booster, but can have paradoxical effect and impair some cognitive functions.

The above are nootropics and they are the only nootropics I found to have some effect on me.

Melatonin - I can't sleep without it as production of it seems to be broken in me. Maybe due to excessive blue light exposure in the evening.

Vitamin d3 + k2 and sun - it feels best if I combine them in the morning.

Vitamin b12 - eat a lot of chicken breast for that. I genuinely feel better eating 140g of chicken protein everyday.

Keep in mind your high magnesium levels might cause calcium deficiency if it's already low.

As you can see, most of it can be found in food - just not in high doses.

Nootropics like piracetam are too expertimental for me, just like modafinil.
