How to mask / pollute / hide online identity

I've read somewhere that you can "spam" your own online identity so of someone wants to find you there is so much contradicting information that they lose a track of it.
What do you guys know about it?

How would one go about doing that?

I had a situation when unwanted people found me...

I have a friend who was found by an investigator who was hired by a stalker who then harassed her.

How would one hide in spite of all the records that are already online and in data brokers' hands?

Thank you. It's not so much but removing (as there are main social media profiles, biz web sites etc.).

It's more about creating a new online identities and completely make it untraceable and not connected to the actual one... and because there is a always a change that connection can be made, "spam" it so to speak with bunch of unrelated information that makes it hard to determine what is true info,. which is false...

I usually don't have my real last name anywhere.

Use multiple last name combinations.

Stop keeping your name of sites like Quotes.com, freelancer.com etc. They get indexed fast.

Don't have the same last name on Facebook, LinkedIn etc

For example, here you can find a set of tools to start extracting information from yourself.

There are full courses on cybersecurity, which is a vast content. Check this video for example, which is introductory to the topic, research can range from address matching to email matching, etc...

I'm not an expert on cybersecurity (although I've been thinking a ton of times on leaving my SEO professional career and switching to this because I don't see any future on SEO watching on how Google is progressing)

This is just a tip of an iceberg, but could give you some insights to identify how exposed you are, and how difficult it is to obscure your footprint. So much information is online, that I can even track my sister, that is a completely technological agnostic, and she has been using a 3310 for almost her entire "digital" life. Mostly because, the organizations are the ones that put the information about you on the internet. Places where you have studied, other people that tag you, not only on SM but on articles, etc...

Unless you and your environment is tech-agnostic, you will appear there and it's very difficult to hide this because if you don't take control of the information that is being published, the information that is published about you is completely unmanageable (although as I say there are ORM techniques to not remove but manipulate).
