I've seen many people on BHW complaining that their links are getting out of the Google Index massively. The same requests I've got from my clients lately. The problem is getting really serious, right? I have also seen many index checkers (services & tools) such as Linkbox etc also show the massive de-index of users' backlinks.
Are links really so mass fall out of the Google Index? - Not really. Here is why..
Mostly link indexing services & tools, the same as users are used to check the Google indexing status with operator "site: URL". This is where the problem goes. Exactly this method (which is common in usage) is the key problem of "massive de-index". It works bad nowadays. That's it.
Although if you simply enter you URL (backlink's url) into Google search - the result may be different, and you can find your backlink indexed in this way.
If you have the batch of the links being deindexed - check them manualy with simple URL paste into the google search and compare the results with the well-known "site: URL" method. That is why many tools show mass dropping out of the index. But, it is purely on google checking method. So if you see a huge drop in the index of your links - do not hurry to squeeze the point. Everything is fine. Just fine.
P.S. Some people claim that this operator (site:URL) wasn't made to check the index status at all. I won't argue, but I stick to my opinion that it was, taking into account the binding of the operator to different popular index checking tools.
Wait until your checking tool drops update on their scripts and the problem will be completely solved)
I've checked 1000 backlinks of mine 1 month ago - there were 87% indexed. One week ago - it showed <60%. I've checked again manualy and the rate was the same as before - almost all the links are indexed. No drops.
