Evening Black Hatters,

I was very very lucky and managed to get hold of and purchase the domain of a jeweler and gold smith with 4 store locations in South Africa, and they are quite populair and in service for about 13 years. They do everything: gold, silver, smithing, crafting, diamonds, cash pawns, watches.. you name it.

Of course I would like the owner (who is obviously loaded) to buy the domain back from me. Do you guys have any proper Black-hat tips, I am new to domain flipping!

He forgot to renew?
Yes and it slipped under the radar on godaddy auction, it showed no traffic on there and most price estimator site's were also off. Just pure luck I stumbled on it sorta.

Should I reach out to them or let them come to me eventually

Just post your email or contact on the domain... I'm sure many people (including the past owner) will come to you

Okay I will make a landing page soon. And about the price.. how would you valuate that. On Semrush the domain has 25 dr and around 2000 traffic/m(they are not a webshop)

Make a list of competitors and the owner then contact them one by one.

It could be worth 10k$ minimum knowing that the niche is very profitable. If a competitor can steal the main guy clientele this is a gold mine.

Good one. How would you pitch that to a competitor, make the domain redirect to their own website?
