I would assume and you can correct me if I am wrong. You are writing this content to rank in google, get some traffic, monetize it and make some money. If this is the case then you are doing it wrong. You don't have enough data and just walking the dark.
So, here is what you need to do.
1 - You are trying to rank in google, so this is your start point! it's your final goal, so this is where you want to start with.
2 - Do some research, search for keywords, and open top websites. The more queries you search for, the better.
3 - Measure this website and ask yourself, can I do better. Am I in the place where I belong. Like when you look for dog red eye or doesn't want to eat you will get tons of medical websites, million of backlinks and hundreds of thousands of articles. So, is this where you belong? in case you are thinking of a reply, no its not.
4 -You need to find small niche, where normal blogs ranks. Preferably there is an EMD in there. If there is Quora, reddit and forums the first page, then you in a good place.
5 - Now gather those blogs and websites you think you can do better. Websites that looks like was built by one person, not a whole company.
6 - You need to know this website is generating money and you can actually outrank it. So, we need some tool analysis. You can buy semrush from any group buy but you need to know its traffic, and backlinking profile. From traffic and monetization method you will know your expected income. From Backlinks you will know your expected invest. If you have enough money to outrank it, then great, your keyword research is done as you can start writing about his same niche. You don't need to copy paste him. You can also use any competition analysis tool to get his keywords and target them.
7 - Congratulation, only now you can start getting your hands dirty and actually working on your website, content and backlinks. And you would have you roadmap telling you what you need to do, and where you need to put your money and time instead of shooting in the dark.
