Google Update October 2022

It has come to the point whenever Google releases updates now, I will have an intense fear and uneasiness within me.
Not because I am doing anything wrong, but because their updates have been destroying or affecting innocent (or whitehat) websites negatively.
To be precise, since the May core update of 2022, I think most of us have no faith in them anymore. The HCU update was the biggest insult to whitehat webmasters, especially when they call it 'helpful content update' but rewarded AI content and spun content, PAA sites tremendously (no hate towards our fellow members doing them), along with all the PDF spams popping up in search results now.
Oh well, let's see how this one turns out...

I have been negatively affected by all these updates in some way. This one has not hit me too badly but has still hit me. The absolute best part about this "spam" update is a very large AI website that was sorta hit in the helpful content update is now back to outranking me for even more keywords. They clearly are spam, as it just pulls people also ask questions, writes some response that 80% of the time is nowhere near what the search intent is, then posts the next one. I have even found a few snippets of my own articles plastered on their website from the AI tool scraping it, and that will outrank me.
I have 0 faith in google having any clue what an update will or won't do or having anyone's best interest in mind whatsoever. Going to keep posting on my blog and hoping one day it will recover but not gonna hold my breath.

Sell all your websites and start some other business for relaxed mind.

That's why i don't relay only on google for my traffic, i try to keep google at 30-60% of my traffic at most

Yeap, I'm already doing that... In fact, several months ago, I've already planned for it. The whole SEO and website thing is just my secondary focus now.

Happened to me 2 years ago. And I had set up a test and knew it has nothing to do with quality. Its just a shuffle so that no one enjoys first position for long. They want to turn you into PPC, and I simply did.
I am making profit and doing good, but nothing compares to SEO. Like not even close. I am talking about profit margin, sustainability and ease of mind. Even though you can make more in scale faster with PPC

Many people have same thinking now only because of these Google updates. Website flipping will also loose it's fancines in coming years because most people will think to abandon sites by selling them to others.

K. Not sure what's with the arrogance and rudeness when we're all here just to share... but have a good day.
Note: and I didn't sell my websites yet. As I said, it's my secondary focus now. So I'm leaving them alone while periodically putting up content. Hope that clears any misunderstandings.

Google is taking some whitehat sites from 100% traffic to 10%, then back to 100% month over month. If you want to defend them at this point and say they have any idea of what they're doing you are insane. Through their rankings they have told us on a monthly basis they have no idea what's going on. At this point ai sites are at about the same risk as whitehat sites; your whitehat site may get hit, and its A+ content.
I would say the risks right now are
New Whitehat site with 8/10 English University student-written content - 50% update hit risk in next 6 months
New AI site with readable but somewhat unrelated sometimes shadeycontent - 60% update hit risk in next 6 months

Am I the only one who no longer frets about updates negatively impacting my sites?
These days I take it as a challenge of sorts, in a way it's sort of fun to pinpoint the areas impacted and improve upon them.
I suppose I enjoy the game of cat and mouse.

Google is not dumb. Well, at least not as dumb as many online publishers think...
It has been under a tremendous amount of pressure lately because of decreasing advertising revenue.
If you've been following Google and online advertising in general, you should know that a lot of these platforms are experiencing lower ad revenue levels because of the meltdown in the crypto market.
Ad revenues were popping during the crypto heyday of just a few quarters ago because these crypto firms would buy up large advertising blocks in the major platforms.
That's no longer happening.
So Google is under pressure to "maximize" the quality of their users' experience.
They've defined this mission as partly cutting down on "web spam."
This includes AI-generated content, republished content, "low-value" content, and other common content features that can fall into the "spam basket."
Expect such spam updates powered by artificial intelligence to continue rolling out for the foreseeable future.
It's an arms race out there, and that's why if you're going to be using AI-generated content, you better invest in having your stuff edited.
Otherwise, it's going to be an uphill battle.

Hi, guys I have lost around 90% traffic in October spam update. My hard work of six months have gone to waste. Please tell me if there are chances of recovery or should I close my blog
