I've looked into similar sites before and they tend to do pretty well. I'm going to try an experiment where I will create a question / answer site and strictly just scrape relevant content with an answer.

What's the process?

1. Find trending keywords in each category automatically and convert them into relevant questions
2. I will have 4 main categories: technology, fitness, programming & cryptocurrency & more as soon as the site starts working flawlessly
3. Search the question, find the most relevant content source & use the content. I might insert the main keyword in the question randomly in the content 2 times, for example if the question is: "what is bitcoin?" the main keyword being here "bitcoin" should occur at-least 2 times in the content.
4. Have a crawler scrape content 24/7

I like the idea but would focus in one category and go deeper into this topic, example fitness ... talk about different aspects of fitness with questions/answers. Long term it will be better for you as you will have more targeted users in the same niche on your site (and it's not even a niche actually, it's a big market segment)

Wish you good luck in your journey.

Is this all automated or are you going to write or spin existing content? I know some sites that post duplicate questions and answers from sites like stackoverflow sometimes rank for the same questions with the same (copied) content..

I plan on making it all automated, I believe I could try ranking with copied title and content or target my main keyword that the script generates. I'll try both the methods together.

Good idea. I'll take this into consideration.

I'm thinking maybe you could try copying the answers and instead of just publishing as-is as I've seen some websites do, you could spin them so that you don't have duplicate content.

i think you will see amazing results, but the bounce rate will be :poop:
How are you're gonna monetize it as it is not targeted traffic?
I just had an idea writing this reply on how you gonna monetize general traffic with targeted affiliate offers, lol

I haven't thought out monetization yet as my main aim here is to get traffic

Well, the question does have some merit.

If we look at that website findanyanswer, they are indeed getting traffic, a lot of it. I'm guessing you are trying to do the same thing, after seeing their success.

But what are you going to do with 95% bounce rate? Or 3 seconds average spending time on the website?

It's a serious question, would love to see how you took this under consideration. It would be the only down factor.

How build a slim site like news.ycombinator ?
Which app/cms they use? It's not wordpress or drupal I can see with page source code.

Happy sunday

Which platform are you using to run this site ? Is it custom design ?

I think the news ycombinator site is built on redis.

redis many big websites using it is a tool ( I call it tool) to build apps, this means you build a custom cms with it, custom apps, or custom widgets for wordpress and so on....and programming your own website with it o rbuild a custom cms. But I not understand this compicated tech I not use it.
