Hey, I have been making music independently for years now and also know what it takes to shoot and edit music videos. I have been really passionate about music and thought about creating a small collective/label hybrid, filling a specific niche in the german music market. I alreay have plenty of ideas how to find ppl to collaborate with and benefit each other and also how to market the artists, but do you guys think someone independant with little budget would be able to really achieve something, or is it mandatory to know someone in the industry?

Many small-scale independent music creators have earned a name for themselves. Everyone starts from the bottom at first, you don't directly climb the top of the ladder. It's not mandatory to have someone already in the industry but I would say that it definitely helps to have someone.

the label side of it is a rabbit hole to say the less , based on your post it almost sounds like you would like managing artists. But if you ae also still trying to pursue music and also have a role in facilitating all that other stuff the relationship between you and the people you work with will have a strange relationship to say the less. In my experience and others (artists , filmers , producers , etc). Its hard to handle doing everything. So at some point most people that use to do everything (like myself ) choose to stick to what they really like about it the most and try to make that work even if it isnt what they are best at.
