Jetbrains fleet, the vscode "killer"

So I recently seen a lot of videos of this IDE.
It seems interesting but I will stick to vscode, It already have a strong community and extensions.
The github history stuff looks good in fleet but overall the UI is too weird for me and looks ugly just like every jetbrains product.
It is using like 2x-4x times more ram than vscode, and we talk about GBs here.
What do you guys think? Will you try this IDE or maybe switch to it?

Yeah I'll give it a go but most likely stick to vs code. I watched the fireship video and the only thing that stood out to me was the git history like you mentioned, it did look pretty nice.
But vs code is just so good man, it's free, community is amazing with all the plugins, and I'm just used to it at this point.
I think it'll be hard to compete with tbh

Jetbrains products (I'm using the Ultimate Edition version, working with Java, PHP, JS, CSS, HTML, Python and Golang) are actually very high quality and once you get used to them it is very difficult to use something different like VS Code. For example, for Java it is difficult to find anything better. But if we talk about web development, then everything is not so straightforward and VS Code works with this task very well. What really makes Jetbrains products better is code refactoring, you can refactor anything.

I constantly follow the improvements in VS Code and I can say that the editor, with the right plugins, can perform some functions just as well and sometimes even better. Therefore, if you do not have money or you feel sorry for paying for Jetbrains products, then this may be the right choice.

A few days ago we tested Fleet, it is impossible to call it a vscode killer, at least because vscode is free. Fleet is more of an attempt to combine Jetbrains products into one lightweight software that can use their cloud services. We use jetbrain products (DataGrip, CLion , Intellij, PhpStorm, Rider , TeamCity ), but so far we have not had a wow effect from Fleet.

Idk, I`m using vscode for quite a while now, it has a lot of plugins, good community, and I don`t see a reason to switch to something else...
But I`m fullstack, maybe for other devs vscode is not that good

Even now, I don't think I have fully discovered Vcode. I definitely don't have time to open up to new adventures. I am permanent where I am. I'll probably download it and just leave it there.
