Hello!
I am 30, I have a few degrees in several sectors but I still cant work because of the nature of my family. They've been controlling everything and I cant do anything. I need to break away from it. I need to make money so I can move away from this place. I cant practice due to my parents ego issues. Its a very complex situation and any kind of help would be appreciated. If you want details, DM me I can disclose the details here.

What type of help do you expect to get from this thread?

Sorry for being harsh, but you're 30 - move out. Take ownership of your life. Find a job that can support your basic needs. Work in a hotel in exchange for bed and food or something.

Or did you expect people to share a method that requires 5 minutes of work and makes $200/day?

@roydan hit on some good points... the main one being you are 30.

By the time I was 30 I had several children, bought and sold several houses, had created and/or bought and sold several businesses and started carving a way for my family to be in a good financial position for years to come.

Come on, Man, grab that bull by the horns and make something of yourself and ignore the adversity.

Mate, If I could I would have I dont even have my documents thats the worst part about it. I cant have them my parents keep them locked away. I have tried everything, if you want I can show you the screenshots I've had with my parents. I just need some help in terms of earning a few bucks so I can start separating myself from my family.

This is not a problem in IM but more of an issue you need to resolve with counseling. At 30, you seem to have a lot of unresolved issues that are still keeping you from becoming someone productive in society. My advice is to seek some type of therapy.

Then luckily you didn't have to deal with the same emotional abuse that the OP has from their family. There is normally a reason why someone older is still hanging around their family. Some of us break clear at 16 and it's the best thing to ever happen to us where as others get stuck in the cycle and only ever come to terms with it when their parents pass away. Millennials have been hit hard by abusive parents and it's coming to light as the years pass on.

Give the guy some advice that's not to ignorant of peoples problems.

TO the OP get a spare job and save some money work nights if you have to anything away from your controlling family.

Thanks for your advice Ive already done that.

I'm pretty sure they can't legally lock your documents. That's probably some kind of crime.

Thanks for understanding :) That is the reason why I am here. NOT to be judged

So, aside from which has already been mentioned, if I were you, I'd be looking for a job within the sectors that my degrees were in. Not only a job, but a career that has a relocation fee.

Meaning they'll cover your travel expenses. Reddit has a lot of good resources for people in situations similar to yours. The homeless and vagabond subs may be able to help find something for you.

On top of those, the care subreddit is there for if you need anything at ALL. Visit it to see more of what I'm talking about.

Though, some of this is dependent on where you live and where you're willing to relocate to.

Thanks a lot for this mate. I will look into this I need a way to get my documents and this is a great way for that. Much love.

it is.
what are you getting to? should I sue my parents? lol

Just saying they cannot withhold your documents, probably illegal.

What you should or should not do is up to you, not giving any advice here.

I did.

One has to create their own life brick by brick.

I was not gentle and soft, as that is not how I think nor how I live, but my advice remains the same.

Grab that bull by the horns and conquer and ignore the adversity as adversity will ALWAYS be there.

I'm not saying be me, I'm saying be him.

My children are all adults... some with their own businesses and some with responsible positions managing others.

Don't even come at me as to how my children were raised.

If you wanted only hand holding perhaps that is how you should have presented your request.

But do not ever call out my children or how they have been raised nor how they have turned out.

I had my fair share of shit when I was younger. Nothing in life is easy to overcome, but more often than not, the best advice you can give someone is to brute force through things. Have a crappy few months, but once it's behind you, you won.

Man, I know you're new to the forum, but a universal understanding online is that you don't bring someone's kids into an argument or discussion. Especially if you don't know them personally.

That's low.
