Most downloaded file (6634 times)

Hi,

I've checked recently my RS stats and I was surprised about my most downloaded PLR archive is a very modest one:

familybudget.zip

http://rapidshare.com/files/122249849/familybudget.zip

This "no restriction PLR" file was downloaded 6634 times within the last two weeks (last time somebody downloaded it one hour ago).

You know well I've posted many download links to PLR stuff. Files have been downloaded about 20-60 time in average. Why this one has been downloaded so many times?

Do you have any idea?

That is strange.

I did a Google search and didn't find much anything about it that justifies that kind of activity.

Looking over the file, it doesn't even look that special.

Maybe there is some kind of church or organization or email list or something that advertised it. As speculation, I would go with email bonus to a large list.

I guess as fuel costs increase and the spending power of the average wage (if there is such an animal), there will be a rise in people looking for ways to alleviate their budgets.
As Stumickel says its probably a bonus on a list.

Thanks for your input. I've also checked search engines and I found nowhere my rs link. I also though somebody from BHW promotes that link through some way that is not visible by Google. I'd like to tell him/her thanks for increasing my reputation at rapidshare.

I am very much willing to find out the reason "why" that exists behind this great number of downloads, because I'd like to repeat with other shares as well.

I could agree with your idea, but what I am seeking for is the distribution channel of the download link. How it gets promoted? Stumickel's idea is very plausible, but there is no other base of it, than speculation.

See if you could find some more info about family spending, name them maybe "familymoneyscheme" "familyinvest" "spendingfamily" whatever you want, containing "money" and "family" post the links at the same places as you did. if you get the same hits, well there you got a money nich... hopefully they get picked up as the one before, it would be a win win if someone would have done the list idea...

Interesting ideas, however the funny part is the file can't be found on search engines.

Meanwhile I've found other interesting statistical data (damn, it took almost 15 minutes to extract and sort the data from the new Rapidshare webpage).

I'd like to have more files that do produce results as the 3-4 from the top of the list.
