What makes the cards feel like a millionaire is how they look, not how many you have.
Having 4+ cards gets a lot harder to manage and you risk forgetting to pay them every month.

There's no mention there to number of credit cards per income %, or even household income, so I don't really understand why you quoted me with this link.

Anyway what it says in the second paragraph is that the average person who cares about credit has about 4 credit cards. That is true in my case. Number of accounts in good standing and length of time are major factors in credit report for credit score.
I think the difference here is OP is talking about bank debit cards.
Why would a rich guy even need a credit card?

Because there are benefits to having them:
First, they build your credit score.
Also, most of them have points that accumulate over time and give you free money back or allow you to spend them on things like flights and hotels. For example, with my business credit cards, I have all of my business expenses go on them and then just have it set to auto-pay the entire balance every month when it's due. I accumulate so many points that whenever I have to fly somewhere, the entire flight cost is usually covered in full (so I always fly first-class without it costing me a cent).
Using credit cards intelligently is one of the best and simplest financial "hacks" out there.
