Buying watch time to fulfill monetization.

I'm approaching 1000 subs on my youtube however I'm only on about 1k watch hours out of the 4k to gain monetization.

Would you advise buying the remaining watch hours or can this kill off a channel?

Also, how would you advise buying these watch hours? Putting them onto a old livestream?
Any recommendations for watch hours?

If this could potentially kill my channel, I'll just wait and try do it legit.

I wouldn't do it for watch hours. Usually, it's much harder to get 1k subs than 4k watch time and buying subs or watch time definitely screws up the algorithm. You already finished the hardest part. Dont get impatient now. The few bucks of a faster monetized channel are not worth it. Good luck

Most people I've met reach 1k subscribers way before the 4k hours of watch time. I personally didn't reach it until I was around 6k subscribers and one of my old friend who uploads similar content did not reach his 4k hours until 3-4k subscribers. It really depends how long his videos are, how many views his videos receive, and how long each viewer watches his video for. Looking at some big content creators only around 5-10% of their audience is active on their channel, sometimes even less. Lets say if 10% of his subscribers watch his entire videos and lets say his videos are 5 minutes long, he would need 100 people to watch 480 videos in 1 year. If he kept a 10% active audience he probably wouldn't get monetized until 2-6k subscribers depending on how often he uploads and how much retention he gets per view. Sometimes the watch time is the hardest part and buying watch time may be worth it although it also depends how much you want to be monetized since it may not even be worth it depending on how many views your videos get.

Thats weird. But yeah it depends on a lot of things which makes it pointless to discuss about it. I make cash cow style videos, and in my experience it's never been the case that I've reached 1,000 subscribers before 4,000 viewers (10+ channels, 5 of which are monetized). At least one video always goes viral and that one alone gives you a ton of watchtime
