Restored an Old Domain and this Happened....

So I basically bough a expired domain an restored from wayback machine the URLs with the most backlinks.

Around 20 posts, then I posted around 40 more posts of my own.

Now that all those urls that did not get restored are getting redirected to homepage I am getting this message.

It has been around 3 months since the redirect and the amount of not indexed urls keeps appearing.

Will google understand anytime that those urls are redirected and should stop taking them into account?

What would you do in this case scenario?

Redirected pages will forever be shown in the "Not indexed" -> "Pages with redirect" section of GSC. There really isn't any issue with that.

What I would be a bit concerned about is the amount of those URLs. Each of them has its own anchor text and it might be a bit of a mess that doesn't exactly help ranking.

Had the same fucking problem with one of my websites. Bluehost decided out of the blue that they should terminate my hosting account. My whole website was gone. Had no access to my backup. So I had to recreate the whole website (including the content) again. Of course, some URLs were lost or changed. But Google ALWAYS tried to consider the old broken links, no matter what I did or try.

It seems like there is no "reset button", they just keep asking or trying to index URLs which do not exist anymore. And yes, it does hurt the rankings/quality of the website if there are many broken internal links.

Not sure that would be a better solution to be honest with you. I recreate URLs for pages that have some backlinks pointing to them and then use "404 to similar" plugin which redirects pages to the most similar page on the site.

It's a bit less hardcore solution, but again, not ideal. There isn't an ideal solution if you want to avoid both 404 and tons of shitty anchors.

I feel you man, I just switched from bluehost to cloudways the first moment I started seeing those weird downtimes and no support from bluehost would answer my questions.

Their servers are slow as fuck as well and they have a 30 day refund policy which makes me vomit.

Will not pay them a single penny ever again

This is what happens when everyone and their mothers are recommending bluehost/hostgator as a hosting provider. When they get mainstream (which are from a long time), they fit as many shared users on the same resources, and they only care about profits not customer satisfaction.

To stay on topic, I believe @Nargil solution to re-create and redirect pages to similar content is the best approach. Although laborious to do on a large scale, better than having broken links.
